Suspension Mods.
Hey guys, I know I've asked this before but I'm still puzzeled.
What does everybody weigh and have you done any mods. to the stock
suspension? I'm 195 lb. full gear and the bike seems to be very jumpy.
Especialy when going into corners, just as I'm about to lean in the turn
and if there is a smallest bump or dip in the road the bike is all over the
place. Is it the suspension, the tires or something else? This really freaks
me out, you know how hard it is to break once your leaned over.
Any way, your input would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Dont have a 10r yet but sounds like your compression and rebound settings may be abit on the hard side, trial and error I suppose. Try softer settings and see what it is like then, there will be some guys on here who know alot more about it than me with track experience, they'll pipe up soon enough... :)

oh good somebody started this already. my inseem is only 30 or less and i would need to lower at least 1". is this acheivable? the salesman tells me to just move the big spring nuts up or down, but that would increase or decrease the spring rate. correct? is this how you lower it? im only 125lbs and how does this effect my weight? if the spring rate is change wouldn't it effect the comp and damper settings?

i'm 185 geared up and i backed out one click front and back on the compression damping and increased the rebound two clicks front and one turn in back from the stock settings. i have 5 lines showing on fork preload adjusters and 21 mm of thread showing on the shock. for me these work well so far. it has stopped the slight kick up on rebound and everythings seems well planted and some serious trail breaking can be done at awsome lean angles with great control...

Any suggestions for a 220lb fatdude?
I've used the settings i read somewhere in a magazine on my 12 and the bike is great all the time.
Hopefully my 10R will arrive very soon and I'd like to know your opinions.

I weigh 175 with all my gear, and I backed all the settings as far back as they would go, both fr and rear compression, fr and rear rebound and fr and rear spring preload, and now it is great. When I go to the track I start with setting the preload to the perfect 3/4 sag (which isn't too much) then add 3 clicks to rebound and two clicks compression to start with.
Then adjust from there, some courses will require more compression or whatever, if I don't bottom out, compression is good. Rebound takes trial and error click here, there, out whatever.
hope that might help, but as far as being on the street, kawi's feel best for me backed completely off, and is still stiff enough to hit that occasional clover leaf and smoke a puck especially the oyster point clover right Johnny!

SR backed the the shock's compression out 5.5 turns. The limit is 4. That adjuster is largely cosmetic. A new rear shock is the hot tip. Ohlins might be all you can get now. They kinda suck as delivered but the three way is useable. The front end feels fine.

I asked Andrew T. from SR bout their setings and they were happy with comp. at back on full soft that is 5.5 turns out. They also had backed of preload at back to get 5mm free sag and to come 22mm thread showing. I had 20mm preload on back from factory so i put more preload to get 22mm. But since they put setings on SR shotout they only changed front preload and now is 4lines showing and not 2 lines as they sugested in SR. I have my setings dialed in their way and im happy with them . On tuesday i have track day so will see.
