Tire size difference?

So I blew out my back tire and am trying to get a new one. It comes stock with a 190/55 ZR17, but this tire size has been impossible to find. I've called around to several dealerships and no one has it. A couple recommended just putting a 190/50 ZR17 on it. But the idea of not having a rear tire that isn't matched up to Kawi's specs or the front tire send up red flags in my mind. Am I being ridiculous or should I just suit up the 190/50?

I think most people that use the 55 like it a lot better. I haven't used it. I generally stick to what the manufacturer sets the bike up for. They know what they're doing but if done right changing to a different tire size is no big deal and you might even like it better.

Also check online...I know Zig just picked up a Dunlop in the 55 profile.

I ran th 190/50, can't really tell any difference. If you are screaming all out on the track, well that will be a different story. Peace

I actually prefer the 50 on the street. it seems to settle the bike down more on imperfect corners. On the track, the 55 is no doubt the way to go.

I like the 55 much better, and I ride 100% street, hell I am trying some 190/60 GPs on Blue Max and I am loving them so far, much more flickable and falls into the corner real smooth.

I have had the non oem Q's on ie 190/50, 120/70 on the streets since August (last year for the ninnies). The front is lowered 10mm and readjusted the suspension. I do not ride hard on the streets, but it works well.

If for the street you will be fine with the 190-50. Actually "Fast Bikes mag" recommends using this tyre size to improve the feel of the bike. I myself have not tried it yet.

On the 06/07 was 55 the stock size?

On the 04/05 I'm sure 50 is the stock size.

Right?!?!
