Will we see a Gen 5 for MY13?
Yes or No and why?
I say no. I think the 2 year sportbike cycles are over. Plus why mess with success. The bike is great as it is. I hope they stay at Gen 4 for MY13.

The only change I see them making is color and graphics for 2013. Other then that it will be the same bike.

Biggest change will be colors. You may also see a couple of trivial tweaks here and there like we saw with the 2010 model, but nothing like a major model revision IMO. As stated, the 2 year development cycle is over for the foreseeable future.

My guess is color scheme differences, perhaps a monster edition or something. I think 2013 may put gixxers back in the mix. They haven't been talked about much since the 05/06 1000. With BMW and Kawi running away with all the attention, my guess is they are going to wanna be talked about again soon. As for Kawi, I think they can bask in the glory of the gen 4 for another year or 2 if not more.

Why are you not posting about whipping the BMW S1000RR and how the guy was talking SMACK!
Some of you may know about my run with the BMW it's the same guy...
I thought CBR1000RR gave you a good run though although you beat him too.
Thanks for letting me test the bike out...
More power than my stock GEN III for sure.
Your stock suspension is pretty good.
Good ride...

Monster sponsors Yamaha now. Not with Kawi anymore!!! An I think since the gen 3 was 3 years right?!?!? 08,09,10. So I'd figure one more year of the same then maybe a change for 2014!

Gixxers are always talked about. In a negative way that is.

I am curious as to whats going to happen with motorcycles in the next 5-10 years. It seems like they are getting close to the apex or at the apex of performance. I don't see them making any big HP gains like we have seen in the past 10 or so years with out upping displacement like ducati has been doing. I do see manufactures developing and focusing on electronics packages for the bikes.
