Finally got the newest two-wheeled hellcat cleaned up and took a few pics for a proper thread.
I had been eyeballing this '08 ZX10R for a few weeks, and had watched it come down in price a bit, as it had been for sale for a little while. The guy selling it lived in St. George, UT, which is a 9.5 hour drive from Fort Collins, so I had to factor in the cost of gas and whatnot when making the deal.
Last Monday I decided to pull the trigger on it, and drove straight through to St. George and back in one shot. It took me 21 hours, the last 4 hours were SKETCHY. I was super tired, but decided to push it so I could get home and sleep before working that night.
The bike had 440 miles on it when I bought it, but it had sat for a while without being ridden, so the battery was totally dead and wouldn't hold a charge. I had to bump-start it just to test ride it. I ended up replacing the battery, changing the oil, adjusting and lubing the chain and bleeding the brakes as soon as I got home, and finally got a few decent pics.
Took it for a short spin today, and OMFG motor. I've had one of everything, and I am seriously impressed with this thing. HUGE midrange and top end, great front end and brakes, and relatively comfy. It's my 5th ZX10R in the last 10 years, and easily the strongest one I've ridden.
I still need to choose an exhaust and pull the reflectors off, etc..
What say you?
