Think the bike realy needs it? just asking and curious if the stock adjustment suffices?

Well the stock one basically does nothing. So it's not so much that the bike needs it or not but it's a very good idea to have one that works right just incase something should happen it could save your behind ya know? It's only like $80 plus shipping so its cheap and imo worth the extra security incase something happens.

Yes, it's definitely worth doing the race upgrade. I've done it to mine and am very happy that I did.

You need a security bit.to remove it. You can probably pick a set of bits up from Radio Shack or Home Depot. You'll also need a 10mm long socket.

Socket for what? I just got the security bits from harbor freight and used a ratchet to take it off.

Upgrading the the internal valve, o ring, and oil is the way to go. Gen2 through Gen4 all benefit from the race spec upgrade. Just make sure who does the rebuild uses genuine Ohlins race spec internals and also uses a vacuum system to refill the oil. Any air trapped inside will make the upgrade useless.

I used LAKO-Performance for my rebuild. Kyle racing is another Co. that does the race spec rebuild.

Not sure if Kyle racing does what Lako performance group does, but my Lako performance group upgraded Ohlins damper is freakin stiff even six clicks out from full.
