Question Will the 2012 exhausts fit Gen 1?

The Akrapovic S/O for the Gen 4 looks pretty sweet. I wonder if it can be tweaked to fit the 2004-2005 models?

you could most definently get a mid-pipe fabricated for it. If you already have a full system, depending where the muffle mounts, it could just be a slide and spring together affair. I believe Akra uses 60mm inlet points, so any system with that diameter, given the proper angles are fabbed, it will work.

MOST any pipe can be fabbed up, just gonna take work some more than others. Its cool seeing diff shit too, not just the run of the mill. good luck

thats all very well but the big question for gen 1 owners is,

would the front pipes off the new zx10r fit ? its easy to sort the link pipe and
silencer but will the headers fit the motor and clear the oil filter, rad etc ?

anyone tried ?

they come up on ebay all the time dead cheap !

im not too worried about the headers fitting. Just focusing on the slip on right now. Im in good with a kawi dealer here, maybe ill see if they have a stock pipe from a gen 4 sitting aroound I could mess with. Ill post if i get anything to work

No it wont....

The slip on with a link pipe shoudl fit every gen besides 1st.
If you fabricate your own mid pipe then you can use the can.

The headers from the 4th gen will not fit any other gen.

If you can find anybody selling just the muffler, I believe Akra uses the same 60mm on all the systems for the 10 so the muffler would just spring together.

That would definently be neat to find out. Another option would be to get a muffler like this one
http://www.ebay.com/itm/11-Kawasaki-...2b9521&vxp=mtr
and then you could make a midpipe from where the one on the can ends to meet the end of your headers. The other option would be to unrivet the end with the midpipe attached on it and get the end for an Akra can that is just the inlet and an Akra midpipe for a Gen1 and put them together.

I would love to slip that can on my full system if it would work. Always wished Akra made a short system for gen 1.

i am interested in the new version conical carbon can for my 2004 gen1 as well. it would be nice if we could get akro to sell the mid pipe for our bikes to us, then pick up the can from the newer bikes.

does anyone know how, or if we could source these like that? ski
