Too much oil-problem with shifting?
...So I went to buy another quart a moment ago since the 3 quarts I poured in during my oil change was not enough.About halfway home on the freeway,I started having really hard shifts, then it was feeling hard hard to downshift!
WTF? Could this have anything to do with having to much oil? I had the oil change done since Monday night and I rode my bike Tuesday till today without the hard shifting?
I feel like a squid asking all these fucking questions.

It was castrol. Yeah the oil is visible. Still don't know why my shift peg is so hard on up shifts?

Too much oil is not going to be a huge problem. It would likely get ejected through the vent into the airbox.
Hard shifts can happen when your clutch doesn't disengage completely. I'm not sure why it started happening suddenly, but feel free to double check the clutch cable (i.e. put more tension on it and see if it helps).

clutch cable has an adjuster on the lever on your left hand, its the big round shiny thingy (thats the technical term). that cable runs over the ram air, down the side of the right fairing and attaches to the top of the clutch cover on the right side of the bike, by where you pour in the oil.
Adjust it from the lever with the wheel so that when the lever is released there is a little bit of play in it, about 1mm or so. Just enough to see space in it and thats all. that should be sure it disengages and engages completely.

The factory shop manual says torque to 23 ft. lbs. Thats too much and its why so many people have trouble getting them off. Ive slowly backed down to 16 ft. lbs with no ploblems at all. Even with some hard revving track days in there. Now for the shifts, I gotta ask, you did buy motorcycle specific oil right? Not car oil?

Sounds like it could be a sticky clutch cable? Or the cable is going bad? Maybe just a little lube would help the cable? Whoever threw out the cluch cable specs was right on, you want just about 1mm of slack in the cable, usually doesnt take much turning of the big ol shiny wheel thing near the lever. But yea, im curious if you used the Castrol Racing RS whatever..the MC specific oil and where is it at in the sight glass?

I used Castrol motorcycle oil..now as for the clutch cable,is it only at the lever end where it has to be adjusted or somewhere by the engine?
