Ok I am in the garage swapping parts from my 2011/Gen 4s and the 2016/Gen 5 to test and see what fits (so i can buy used Gen 4 stuff to put on the Gen 5).

1st, The Gen 4 Rear-Sets bolt directly up to the Gen 5. (I used my Vortex from my Gen 4 Race bike).

Top of my list of Mods is going to GP shift/Reverse shift. With the stock rearsets, and shift arm, this looks impossible like way back when the Gen 4 came out.

The huge Quick Shifter Housing and the recessed in shift arm, makes the swap to GP shift impossible. The shift arm is too long and set too far back and the QS housing shape is too thick.

How I made it work:

In the picture below you will see
Gen5 ......Gen 4.......Gen 3
Shift Arm.

Again you will have to use a Gen 3 (08-2010) Shift arm.

Next I took the Vortex rear-sets from Gen 4. >:)

You will have to do some playing around with the Gen 5 shift ROD.

Install the Gen 3 shift ARM, take the Gen 5 shift ROD from the right /back side and relocate it to the front side.

(you will have to do this because the Gen 3, shift ARM is has a MALE end Thread....while the Gen 5 shift ARM have a FEMALE end thread.

The set up is like this...and the pictures below will help.

Gen 3 shift ARM...connected to short Gen 5 shift ROD...connected to KQC (kaw quick shifter)....connected to FEMALE thread end Vortex shift LINKAGE (connects to shift LEAVER).

The Gen 4 vortex Rear-sets came with a MALE and FEMALE adaptable shift LINKAGE....that is connected to the shift LEVER...

I had other options like cutting and making another short shift rod to adapt the GEN 3 shift ARM to the KQS unit, but it would have been hella long.

Also, you will need to unplug the KQS and re-fish the wire so you have enough line to shift with out pulling on the wire.
I zip tied the wire down.
It is real close ...the KQS to the shift Lever and the KQS to the frame.

Ill update this if I forgot to mention something.

I read that the KQS is not a push/pull type...then again I have heard its both...I will test out another day.

HID install.

Gets worst with each new model it seems. Had to dremel down 3 tabs on the HID kit, cut, drill, splice and soldier, but in the end...a clean install.

In the test pics you can see the 1st is HID 6000k H7 on left and OEM Halogen on right.
2nd pic is both with the HID kit.

Geez man. There's no cutting/splicing needed. You de-pin the connector with a small screwdriver or pick and pass the wires through the grommet. :headshake: And if you have to file down the tabs, that makes me wonder if you really got an H7 bulb. :dontknow:

Last pic is a clean and neat install. same location I put my Gen 3, and Gen 4.
These are the Xentech Platinum 35watt 6000k, H7 HID kit. You have to ask them to send the grommet/boot or there is no way to make this work correctly.

Ive been buying from the same seller on Ebay since 2006.
Out of the 13 to 15 sets ive installed, only had 2 balast burn out and they shipped me replacement ones for free.

Sooooooooo much more electronics on the Gen 5 vs. Gen 4.
cool seeing how similar they are, and just how much different they are also.
I think Ill get a Motion Pro throttle. I see how hard/easy it will be already. Similar to install on Gen 4.

Check this trick stuff out from MSS Colechester.

The device allows Reverse/GP shift and keeps all the OEM stuff in stock location...

Look real close.

and how do you like the supercorsas ?
did you get matt or gloss black?

Here is the link to the ebay seller I got mines from.
I just got MATT black. Most will probably like carbon look better....
I paid the $2 expedite shipping....and shit got here in about 6 days..maybe 7. Fitment is perfect...nice snug and tight, unlike the Gen 4 knock offs that were lose and flimsy. The metal bracket is heavy and locks firm.

Ive been running Pirelli since 2005. Mostly I was taking my race tires and then slap them on my street bike...when the SP came out with the V1 I started using street tires on the street again and the V2 seems even better...they stick and grip, but have extreme lean angle grip.....never a problem with traction with the SPV2. I will always and only use these until a new version come out.

Beautiful machine and nice how you're pulling everything you can get out of her.

MC yes...
but you will have to do something about the brake light switch... I put a Brembo after market RCS 19 on mines.

Calipers not going to fit...and the rotors are larger on Gen 5.

should I make a video of mine going on and off? will be hard with one hand...id have to wait until i get someone to hold the camera.

At most it could possibly need an adjustment. Looking at the video posted above...if that was mine id just take a vice grip to the rear tab and bend it down 2mm or more until its flush.
