|Ron Mears||Is there a reason you don't just use the adjustability in the eye-to-eye length of your shock to lengthen it?|

on the 2016 I have slip in spacers from 1969 Chevy Nova and Impala. They are suspension shims for that car.
It was like $16 for 48 shims in various sizes.

Jumping in here for a second with some potentially useful comments on rear ride height and a Gen4/5 blended rear suspension...
My Gen4 bike has the OEM swingarm and shock but I've played with different shims (I used stainless washers), Gen5 links and the Gen5 tie rod ("dogbone").
First of all, my baseline is all OEM Gen4 rear suspension aside from 6mm of shims on the shock clevis. I don't know exactly how much extra ride height the shims added because I'm a dummy and I didn't think to take a measurement beforehand. However, I figure the 6mm of shims translated into 12mm of ride height based on what I'm about to explain.
The interesting thing I discovered is that when I simply swapped in the Gen5 links, Gen5 tie rod and continued to use my Gen4 shock with +6mm, the ride height increased by about 12mm. When I took the 6mm of washers out, the ride height dropped to exactly to where it was with the all OEM Gen4 set up and 6mm of shims.

Is the points of the g5 arm the same as g4....?
so I can put a g5 arm in a g4?

The two are all direct swaps... shocks, linkages and swing arms.
The difference in swing arms is the Gen 5 is about 10mm longer and have a brace welded on the left side to make it stiffer.

So I will need a 10mm shim and use the standard 2016 linkage
I presume the shock shim fits at the top shock mount under the tank which in turn pushes the shock down 10mm.

I have my 2011 ohlins on my 2016. I have race linkage on the 2011 and they are damn near the same as the gen 5 stock linkage.
Just shim 10mm and go.
