Johns04ZX10R | I only have USAA for my homeowners, and they were great about doing a bunch of hail repairs a few years ago. My premium is not the lowest out there, but they didn't screw me over either. USAA was a lot more expensive for my truck, and they would not take my bike without taking my truck. Progressive is the cheapest vehicle insurance I have found, and they have always paid out fairly on the few claims I've ever had. I've also been with them since 2002. LOL |

When I got the 10, I got a quote through them and it was outrageous. Ended up going with Geico. Fast forward to today, all insurance is now through AllState and I will never, never, never even consider USAA for insurance again. Got into a fender bender last year and it was the worst experience of my life dealing with them. Anyway, it was a lot cheaper switching to AllState anyway despite the 'discounts' I got through USAA. For the record, I still do 90% of my banking with USAA and have never had any issues.

Way to expensive on my end. Should mention I'm a perfect insurance risk too. No tickets, home owner, old, no claims, good credit, etc. My 14 is triple the cost of progressive for the same coverage. ZX10 - 2006 15/30 comp, collision, liability = 680.00 250/500 comp, collision, liability = 736.00 250/500 minus collision = 565.00 ZX14 - 2012 250/500 comp, collision, liability = 1500.00 250/500 minus collision = 939.00 I don't ever carry collision on my bikes. Currently Progressive ZX14 250/500 comp, liability = $316.00 I always try and check rates on all my insurances every 1 to 2 years and still can't find anything cheaper then Progressive for motorcycle insurance. Maybe has something to do with that we ride all year around down here. People in the colder states can drop their coverages down to just storage rates for half the year. ![]() I guess the only thing to say is shop around! |

One of my weirdo goals is to have one original 1st gen bike in each color produced. I would like to have one in each color as well! Need to finish my grad school first though. Our new baby is also a priority....and the house and the car I want to rebuild and traveling... lol. So many things! |

![]() Part of the reason is apparently I live in a high vehicle theft area. Number 7 in the nation for number of bike thefts. No new ride for me. ![]() I had USAA insurance for the longest time, always paid up front and never had an incident. MrMoto73 | It is full coverage.... for a 12 year old Gen1. I just went online to the dairyland insurance site and looked at what I would pay for a new ZX10R and it would be almost 800 bucks a year for the minimum coverage if it is financed. That is with 1k deductibles on collision and comp and adding 5k of accessory coverage. If I select every option they have, roadside, rental, vanishing deductible, trip interruption, replacement cost, etc... and do 100 dollar deductibles the rate goes to 2k per year if I pay in full. |
