it's the same all years, only difference is the location and number of cable tention adjustors. I know the Gen1 has two adjustors and both are accessable with out removing the tank... not sure but the Gen 3 may only have one adjustor...

but the install is identical, parts are identical, Gen 4's have a plastic grip housing but it's identical in shape to the Gen 1-3...

so go for it, follow the instructions in my signature and you should be good to go.

I'm here if you have questions, and for sure if you post in the forum, you will get a ton of help from guys
