I use the R77D titanium 3/4 system with the stock header. I went with the R77D because they offer it in titanium and I've found the titanium pipes to hold up best in crashes. Carbon fiber tends to get destroyed quickly and can't be fixes easily. Titanium on the other hand can be tweaked back into position in a pinch or even beat out with a hammer in an emergency (i.e. between races). Yes, the stock header is perfect for the stock motor. A superbike built motor might benefit from a full header, but for a stock or even a superstock built motor, the stock header is better sized. I've run the Akropovic mid-pipe before the Yoshi pipe and it did the job. Top-end power is about the same. The mid-pipe adds a bit of length to the system, which is key to making the exhaust work with the exhaust pipe Yoshimura uses. The Akropovic can is a different length and therefore the mid-pipe has to be a different length as well. There's something to do with the exhaust pulses and timing of when the pulses arrive at the opening of the can (above my head). Basically, either system is going to treat you well, you would be happy with either. Of course, the Yoshi pipe will save you some money on the initial purchase and some more later if you ever need replacement parts, so there's something to consider.
