There's only a few things I don't like about the bike.
1) The keyless ignition, HATE it!
2) I could do without the single sided swingarm although it looks cool. You have to take the muffler off to get the wheel off. Not a big deal though, loosen a clamp and take off one nut.
3) It doesn't have the high RPM horsepower that the ZX10 has but makes up for it with all that wide band of low end torque. It's much better out of the hole and a fun wheelie machine.
4) I don't care for how much the bike and all of the accessories cost (a good bit more than my '16 ZX10). It also cost extra to unlock the track mode and the up/down quick shifter, but I paid the fee.
It's a different beast for sure but after about 5000 miles on it I find it superior in every other way. No comparison in comfort. I can ride that SDR all day long, even on straight roads and not get tired/sore. Electronic Cruise Control is the shit. It takes a little getting used to shifting at much lower RPM which is opposite to the ZX10. With the ZX10 you don't get into the power until high RPM and it makes good power all the way to red line. Just the opposite with the SDR. You're not making much power up near the red line it so you want to shift as soon as your out of the torque band. I'm still waiting on my Akrapovic exhaust to come in. Hoping I get a little more power up high with it. It should be here in another week.
