Thanks, on the Gixxer the filter is close enough to the drain bolt I wire the two together - two birds with one stone - I hate to drill it while under warranty, or they will think I am racing it...which I am not. Track days maybe... :-)

Ha! I just went out and looked at mine and I did the same thing. It's on my 600s that I drilled a hole in the oil pan bolt to wire the drain plug to. :)

I just looked at the Parts Fiche for the 2015 and 2016 (now that I found a 2016 Fiche) and...

2015 Oil Filter Part# 16097-0008

2016 Oil Filter Part# 16097-0011

Not sure if there is a real difference, or just a new Part#

I called a dealer and asked if they had any 2016 filters, and they said no, only the 2015.

Thoughts?

Had my first service on my 2016, A lot of dealers were putting gen 4 Oil filters on and Kawasaki Kicked up a big stink, The Pressure rating is different in the 2016 oil filter. K&N Don't yet have an oil or air filter for the 2016.

On that note, Has anyone sourced an aftermarket air filter? BMC or anything? I have come across MWR but no one claims to know anything about them. They are claiming Sykes and Rea are using them this year in the WSBK although I haven't found any solid evidence of this?

IN NEED OF AN AIR FILTER to tune with My SC Project exhaust

At the moment I am running a genuine Kawasaki filter for my 16'. They said there could be vital issues at high revs and speed with one of the Gen 4 oil filters due to the oil pressure difference
