Actually they let me keep it for $1100 and I turned around and sold it for $1600.

As the latest development though...my wife is still freaked the f out after the wreck and though she isn't telling me I can't get another bike, I know she'd be worried as hell if I hopped on another one right now. So I'm going to give this wreck a little time to blow over, let her realize its all ok, and see about getting another one later on.

Been there, trust me I know all about it. Heard nothing but about how about I almost died after I got out of surgery. But it does subside after a bit, and I not only fixed my old bike, I bought my Ducati too. I'm sure it will be the same for you.

Yep, I'm hoping for exactly the same! I was going to keep the bike and fix it, but didn't want to bother with having a salvage title bike...

That didn't bother me having a salvage title, but as it turned out for me the insurance company didn't mark it as salvage for some reason. I just rebuilt the bike better than it was originally and pressed on. Your experience may be different on that end, but the resale value would be different with the salvage title versus a regular title. Though with my old Bloo there were many takers even if she did have a salvage title.
