Are Gen 1ís Still Alive?

I own a 2005 Gen 1, Iíve been absent from the Forum for a long time. My bike is in mint condition, 16,000 miles, Akra CF Hex exhaust, BST CF wheels, rear sets and numerous other mods. Looks brand new and runs perfect, still take for occasional blasts, but primarily ride my other bike.

I am curious how many other Gen 1ís are still out there being ridden actively? Is this bike disappearing from the world? Too old and obsolete? Would love to hear how many Gen 1 owners are still out there and riding it.

Don't get to ride as much as I'd like, but 2004 still going strong

My mom still rides her 1st Gen. She's in her 60's but she's about to retire it lol. That's a pic from Daytona Beach bike week a few weeks ago.
We went on a poker run this past weekend too.

I'm hoping I can swindle my dad into the idea of letting me keep it since she is about to get something else.

How many miles did it have, and how much did you get for it?

My guess would be about 14,000 miles. It had been -1 in the front for a while so true mileage I'm not sure about but the speedo read about 14800. I sold it for $4800.00. I could have held out but lifes circumstances for me right are shall we say...changing. I hated to miss a sale for a couple hundred bucks.

Wow, that's low mileage. Sounds like $5K is about the value these Gen 1's are hanging on to. I've got more than that in mods alone on mine! Just the BST CF wheels were $3,500! (but worth every penny)!

Lots of reads, but not many responses to this thread, are we a dying breed?
