BYE BYE GoPro Hero 5 hello Garmin VIRB Ultra 30

I just returned a Hero 5 that I purchased a few days ago I actually promised myself I would never deal with Go Pro again after all the issues I have with my Hero3 which turns on when it wants to (google red light of death). The last few days I've been doing some research and I've decided to return the Hero 5 and purchase the Garmin VIRB Ultra 30. Bestbuy didn't have the camera in stock so I have to wait for it to be delivered but after watching several videos on youtube I'm very excited especially to test the G-Metrix feature.

I just bought the same camera for the same reason. Also, the quick switch on off start stop recording is nice. The g-metrix ability is what hooked me on the camera.

I'm dialed in Euro style.

I have never heard of this camera before, went and googled it and damn does that sound cool! My Sony action cam has GPS overlays and shit but it doesn't tell you the RPM's that you were at, I'm super curious how this g-metrix thing connects to the bike to read that info. Be sure to do a test video for curious members like me!

You need a connected obd2 device for rpm information. Eventually bikes will have this capability.

I'm dialed in Euro style.

If the Garmin doesn't work out for you, check out the SONY FDR-X3000. Sony's new action camera is amazing.

I'm familiar with the Sony but I like the Garmin bc it uses the go pro mounts and since I've own every GoPro for the start I have tons of mounts.

Look on Youtube and check out the Garmin VIRB Ultra 30. The Hero 5 is having some battery issues as well, I'm not saying it's widespread but it's enough to turn me off, I truly felt that the Hero 3 should have been recalled like the recalled the Karma drone but they didn't do it so I've decided to spend my money else where.
