Bulb type

Trying to figure out what size bulbs my 09 zx-10r has for headlights and running lights. One source says H9/H11 for the high/low beams and another say they are both H7 bulbs. Is 194 the size for the running lights?

I'm going to order LED bulbs and want to make sure I get the correct ones.

Welcome to the party!

The city lights are 194 type. Get a 194 SMD LED bulb rather than the the typical LEDs they sell for that. It will fill the housing better and not be as prone to heat build up in the housing.

The high beam headlight is an H9 bulb and the low beam is an H11 bulb on those models. So they are not H7s.

Thanks for the info! Do recommend any particular LED kit? I want a good kit but not necessarily the top of the line either. I've seen kits on Ebay for $40-$50

Uhhhh....the 194 bulbs should be about $8 or less for both of them. There's no real "kit" for those. If you're thinking LED bulbs for the headlights....well then skip them completely. They suck actually. The housing wasn't designed to support LED headlights. The bulb fan/heatsink stick out wayyyyy too far out of the housing, which exposes them to all kinds of water and debris, and that's if they don't hit the the fork tubes during turns. Aside from all that, they don't put out as much light as halogen and certainly not as much as HID. Oh, and the beam cutoff pattern will suck also. The only thing gained by swapping to an LED headlight bulb is so be able to tell that to the guys at the local Starbucks coffee shop.

But the 194 SMD LED city lights look sweet! Especially in green!

Yeah, the 194's are like $10 at walmart. I was talking about LED headlights when I referring to a "kit". I'm glad I read your feedback about LED's for the headlights before I ordered them. Maybe I'll just go with HID's instead. They worked well on my 07 650R ninja I used to have.

As for green city lights, I don't think they would look right on my bike. My bike is burnt orange/black. Maybe if it was Kawasaki green, it would look cool...
