?Articulated Hand Armor Makes These The Safest Gloves Ever

"Abrasion testing is done on a Martindale Machine. A coarse pad is slowly rubbed on the material to look for potential wear and tear issues. Motorcycle testing gets a lot crazier and is done using an impact abrasion tester. The lab attaches whatever material you're using to a mechanical arm, which then falls onto a high-speed, 60-grit sander. This is used to simulate a slide on hot asphalt. The minimum time to failure is just three seconds. Leather alone won't achieve that and neither will a leather/Kevlar mix. This is why so many companies find it so hard to pass. Riders can't tell the difference between the work and motorcycle certification, so what do the manufacturers care?"
I was reading in the comment section of that article that someone suggested handroids. Then someone commented they have seen the handriod articulation break off and stick into the users hand. I wonder if that is accurate.

Could be a realistic hazard for sure. That was one of the things that turned me away from those gloves and stories of them blowing out. Styling is good but might be a little too "loud" for street riding.

Chris, I've looked into those as well. Just purchased a RS Taichi GMX Lite jacket that I'm super impressed with. I will be doing a review of it soon when I've got some rides in with it. Taichi quality is the best I've seen and I'm sure those gloves are no exception.

Thanks for the heads up! Have you tried the cortech boots at all?

I had a hard time finding them online. Have a link?

---------------

The ONLY mainstream brand glove that I've found to be CE Level 2 Certified is the brand new A* Supertech R glove. The downside is, we don't know if the whole glove is "approved" or just certain parts are "certified." Going to send an email to A* for clarification.

.
They are by far the most comfortable gloves i've ever had in my 15 years of riding. They took 0 miles to break in. It's almost like i'm not even wearing them.
NOTE: They do fit small. In most brands i'm an XL, with these im a 2XL. To bad mine are worn out:(
RS Taichi rules in everything they make.

That's how I felt with the jacket. Fits perfect and doesn't even compare to my A* or Icon jackets. Have you tried the Taichi leather pants at all? Mike @ RidersDiscount hooked me up with some leftover Held Titans. Looking forward to them getting here. Going to try those out in cold & warm temps to find its' limitations. If I can find some Taichi gloves on closeout, I'll try em out for sure.

I have an RS Taichi 1 piece suit. Its a 10 year old model and on the lower end of their scale but i wouldn't trade it for anything (unless it was a new RS Taichi Suit).

I wish i could get another pair of the GP Evo's but our $ is at 30% lower then the last time i bought mine.
I'm looking at the Five5 RFX1's if i can find a place around here to try them on. The problem with living in the Squid Capital of Canada is that nobody has gear and if they do its all Icon or A* rant over
