Afternoon chaps. I got my 10R with 27k on the clock. Well looked after and clean as a whistle. I have just got 31k and the valve clearance thing is in my mind now. It's riding and pulling clean with no untoward signs or issues. Just piece of mind I guess. How much would a job like this dent one's wallet. I'm in no way confident enough to gut the pig and give it a go myself. I'm alright everywhere else but I'm not playing in the engine.
I just checked my valves at 20k and were all in spec but had a leaky valve cover gasket so i figure while i was in there why not check them... Its really not that bad of job to check them but most shops where i live charge around $500 to do a valve job.
It isn't a hard job by any means if you take your time and have some tools. You can replace spark plugs while you're at it and look at the valve cover gasket.
Shop would probably charge 200-300 dollars to do the whole job.
Local shop quoted me around $500 for it a lil while back I think.
