Anyone else notice how you could find a fairly cheap KZ 1K around 06 08? Then almost overnight they all got bought up for resto's and cafe projects? Damn near impossible to find a 1000 or 900 near me now that either hasnt been molested and stretched all to hell or they want $3K for some shitty roller thats a rusty basketcase. I'll probably have to travel for the one i want when/if the time comes.

Edit - fuk it im adding the GPZ to my list of project bikes to choose from. Honestly hadnt considered it til now.

Add the ZR550 onto the list too (Zephyr)... Iím seeing it for relatively cheap.

Kewl. I know i said 1000 and 900 but id probably settle for less displacement. The smaller they are, seems like they will weigh a lot less too and that sounds fun to me. I see GPZ's pretty often on ol Craigslist around me. And you cant give away Honda CB's around here but i wont have that.

Man you ain't kiddin. I was looking through craigslist not too many years ago and there was a guy selling a blue KZ1300 locally that looked immaculate...and if I recall he only wanted 2300.00. Clean title and looked unmolested. I still kick myself for not picking it up. I also had a friend who had 2 CBX's that between the two would have made one nice bike and I could have bought them cheap too. He also wanted to sell me an old VFR for 200.00 bucks but I didn't have the time to go through her. And of course the KZ 900 in my sig that went to my cousin that used to be my uncles bike. I ended up with a meanstreak instead and still wish I would have kept the KZ too. That reminds me I need to call my cousin up and see if he ever did anything with that bike...maybe just maybe I can get it back. I don't know if he really even knows what he has there...I hope he appreciates it for what it is. Had an extra head/spare parts for it and some mods done to her. Perfect candidate for a restomod. So many bikes so little time and money lol...Here's a couple bad progress pics of the old CB550-four that my brother and I did:

Really nice pics there Sebastian, thats a project id wanna do someday. Honestly i can really dig those Honda's in cafe trim. I hate to admit that as a Kawi guy at heart (im not brand loyal though) and even recently ive thought about what it would be like if i found the right CB 750 or something similar to tinker on, the parts should be plentiful. But at the end of the day im just not sure id be satisfied with a Honda in the garage instead of a Kawi project. Really, after seeing those GPZ's and what can be done id be more likely to go in that direction before i went Honda, but thats just me being weird. I can totally appreciate a nicely cafe'd out CB whatever though.
And of course, id always love to have a Mad Max project bike of any kind. Would love to model a Kawi after one of the bikes in the movie.

Better see if that 900 is still around!!

The black is just a plain jane black...this pic iirc was after painting the frame but later the frame ended up getting powdercoated for durability (or maybe this was after pc I can't recall). I can't remember where the tail came from...dime city or benjis I think. The whole bike ended up in a simple black/tan/chrome/polished scheme. I used to have more pics of her but I think that was a few harddrives/computers ago. I'll have to see if I can find some more pics...it was kinda built to go to rockerbox before rockerbox got moved to the road america. I actually just got off the phone with my broham and he said he would see what pics he still has and shoot them to me. While I wait here are some random pron, not trying to hijack just add some more flavor lol

Thanks bro, and no worries on the bike porn at all!! Does make me wish I could snap my fingers and be done with it. Looks like I might have a doner rolling chassis (GSXR 750). Gotta make time to drive to where itís at and take a look at the front end and swing arm
