Im trying to get hold of him now to purchase another one i dont think r6 will work as the 1/5 is the largest fit on the standard housing

can't believe I missed this.

yes, the R6 tube will give you a better throttle response then the OEM grip...

however...


1. it's not a full 1/5th (72' degrees rotation) it's more like 80' - 82', so better, but not what it could be.

2. the R6 tube is about 3/8ths of an inch shorter, so you get a gap between the end of the clip on weight, and the throttle tube.

3. The rubber pattern doesn't match.


all the above are not show stoppers, just things that I have noticed. If you have a track dedicated bike, and you don't care if the grip is a little short, different rubber, etc. and you are on a tight budget, that R6 tube is a quick inexpensive ($15 - $25 on Ebay, depending on age and damage) way to go.

if you want your bike to retain the original OEM look but give you a 20% improvement in throttle response, the 1/5th insert is the way to go.
