frame sliders vs race rails

Trying to decide if I want sliders or race rails/crash bars.

Would some please explain which is better and why (technically)
Don't care about looks or cool factor. Just want best protection for my ZX10R

I have never seen crash cages or race rails (whatever you want to call them) on anything but stunt bikes. I have never seen them on track/race bikes. I have seen engine case sliders and frame sliders on race/track bikes. I personally have evotech axle and frame sliders. As well as their radiator guard.
