Young buck + new bike = Alien?

Maverick Vinales does ten sub 1:30 laps at Phillip Island on the Zook. Do we have a new king of the hill contender?

Maverick Viñales has always been a special talent. Though he is very young he will make a splash in MotoGP and be a factor in races. My hope is that he does it with class unlike Marquez. We will see.

1:29s is fast around Philip Island but lap record is set by Lorenzo in 2013 at 1:27:8x. Recent year's qualifying was in low 28s. So I would say that come race weekend, we'll see the usual order of things restored. Not taking anything away from Maverick, I'm reasonably confident he'll deliver the mail as long as the bike allows him to.
