A Salute to Veterans on Your Day

Just a little salute to all you veterans out there, both past and current. I personally want to thank every one of you for keeping me and my babies safe from all the evil that this world has spawned. Thank you for the freedom you have provided me. Thank you for liberty I have to live my life as I please. You are are the piece of mind that lets me sleep at night knowing that tomorrow will come. You are the bedrock that makes the country great. You see no color, no creed, no bias- only the will to protect this great nation from harm and protect all that live within it. This is your day, and I salute you.

I love each and every one of you. Be Safe.

You are all very welcome.

cherish the freedom you have, guard it, watch with a wary eye those who would fritter it away.

Thoughts are mostly all i can do. Think of my Uncle Denny who was in the Navy during Veitnam, another Uncle Bill who called wherever he was stationed during Veitnam "Hell on Earth" due to the temps, and my Grandfather who was in no less than 3 wars, Three(!), mostly in the Pacific Theater.
Luckily this year i had an opportunity to not just visit grave sights and mowed my 89 year old neighbor Vet's lawn...well mow/mulched his leaves anyway and shook his hand and thanked him. Thank him weekly for being a friend anyway but it was nice to put in some work, even if it wasnt hard. I may not agree with every conflict we get into and im damn tired of seeing our "boys" die overseas but that will never mean i dont have respect.

Pic of my buds and I, Sept. 2002 before we went overseas. Fortunately, we all made it home safe and sound. 23 years later, i'm still going strong!
Thank you Vets for your service and commitment to keep the great country free!!

This pic was taken in Ft. Bragg, NC. We were packing up and heading to Afghanistan. I believe we were the second medevac company there.
