So here's my questions to the guys who went....I have always gone to Laguna Seca and gotten a race day specific MotoGP T Shirt...that showed that day and year of the race. I asked one of my Texas buddies to get me a T-Shirt when he went to Cota. After the weekend race, he directed me to Amazon to get one and of course they had NONE of the MotoGP COTA June 22nd shirts. I called COTA yesterday and left them a message on their VM and no one called me back. So are these types of T Shirts NO LONGER AVAILABLE at the tracks?

When I went to COTA in 2015 they didn't have any year/track specific shirts. Mostly just generic MotoGP or motorcycle shirts.

I got mine at Laguna Seca couple years before that so maybe you're right.

My lady has turned into a huge MotoGP fan and follows all the action, the top riders and can't wait to watch the race with me on Sundays. I'm so proud of her! :) Anyhow, we're talking about heading down next year. Can't wait to see if that happens! We would definitely get the VIP package as well. I've done a few VIP experiences at different types of events and the free food, booze and swag usually make it more than worth it.

Anyhow, COTA looks like a knarly track. So much elevation change and on tv it seems like the MotoGP guys are at full lean all the time which is so cool to watch.

We're still getting familiar with the track layout so would definitely appreciate recommendations from you guys as to where to sit etc. Should we just get the general admission so we can float around those different grassy areas? We were also thinking about buying that package where you can pick a different grandstand for each day.

I had main grandstand seats but wish I went with general admission. Although there's more seating since I went in 2015 so maybe one of those new grandstands has a better view. I think having a chair to setup in the grass would be ideal but I wouldn't want to carry it. I ended up walking around the track to check it out from different angles more than I sat in my seats during the weekend. You'll want to have a big screen to watch during the races so you can see what is happening on other parts of the track since it's rather large. There are quite a few so no worries there. Best spots to watch are from the top of the hill on the main straight where you'll see some good braking duels going up the steep hill. Just next to that are the esses which are pretty cool for watching guys rapidly change direction. I never made it all the way to the back straight which is another great place to watch for battles into the braking zone and the sheer speed on straight. You can see it fairly well from the top of the track. I also liked hanging out by the concert stage area under the tower. That super long right hander in front of it is pretty impressive in person. Plus there's good grub in that area lol. I honestly never found a spot on the track I didn't enjoy watching them ride through. Luckily you have plenty of time to study before you make any decisions on seats. Hope you get to check it out!

Well that was an absolute blast of a weekend. Had PSL tickets in turn 15 grandstands. Great views, tons of action through there. All the riders love doing wheelies through there at the end of the practices and races etc. Walked the whole track, went up the tower, great views everywhere. That was quite fun.

I’ve been every year except 2014. We usually sit at turn 7, but this year we went all the way around to the top of the hill right between turns 9 and 10. You can see them coming around turn 6, they disappear around turn 7 but then come back at turn 8. You see them from turn 8 all the way to turn 11. As far as I can tell, it’s where you’re closest to the bikes going by, plus there’s a big tv right there on the other side right at the edge of the track that you can see very clearly. Restrooms are close, beer guys come by semi-regularly, and not as many other spectators since it’s far AF from the entrances. But, if you stick around for everything, on Sunday at least, you can leave out of one of the gates along the back straight across from lot F. Also, one of the inside track gates was left open and unattended, so we got to sneak on track for a quick pic. Made my whole weekend.
