Wrong Shorai battery

You guys will think this a bit funny...6 years ago when I got my Gen 4 ABS (2011), I bought a Shorai battery from one of the vendors on this site. 2 weeks ago left my key on for 2 hours while the fan was cooling the bike down. I came out and everything seemed fine. I turned the key off and went on to do some other stuff. Saturday I went to go on a bike ride and the battery was absolutely dead...turn the key on and absolutely nothing came on. So I called Shorai, and they have a 5 year warranty, they shipped me a new battery for my ABS bike for $100 and I got it today...and lo and behold, the battery in my bike is a non ABS battery at about HALF the size of the ABS battery. There's no way that replacement ABS battery will work..it won't even fit in the tray without me removing a rib and relocating my BAZZAZ which I have mounted on top of the wrong battery. So I am thinking fawk it, this battery lasted 6 years, just to get the smaller battery and be done with it. Or should I go through the headache of trying to get the much larger battery to work? Thoughts?

the abs bikes have the larger battery, and the posts are reversed. old guy, what makes you think you have an abs bike, if you received the smaller battery first, and it was correct?

the tone rings on the wheels are for traction control so... both abs and non abs have tone rings on the wheels. if your brake lines go right to the masters (front and rear) and don't not go to a modulator valve system... you do not have abs.

abs bikes with the big battery have the tray with no stop fin in it, to allow the bigger battery.

my guess is you have a non abs bike. Ski

May we all, get to have a chance to ride the fast one, walk away wiser when we crash one, keep hopin that the best one is the last one.

Had the battery for 6 years and never used a charger...sent a picture to Shorai today and they are sending me a replacement. Said the battery I have was never spec'd for the bike...I showed them it fit the battery tray perfectly and the one THEY show would absolutely not fit at all...all they can figure is that I have one of the first Gen 4 ZX-10R with ABS (TRUE) and Kawi modded the tray later for a bigger battery...which could be true. My tray has vertical plastic pieces that would never allow their larger battery to fit...only the one I had fit perfectly.

I have the '11 and '13, same tray. Also, if I don't have the shorai charger going the battery will be dead inside three days, but possible I'm confusing bikes. It sure worked well for you.

edit: bought the '11 April of 2012 and the '13 in September 2014, both new. Mention this so that you can compare time frame as Kawa can change whatever before they ship. You may have purchased the '11 in 2010.

Aren't you the guy that blew up two motors? My bike can sit for a month and it starts right up...the key is to let it sit with key on for a bit before you engage the starter.
