I tried to answer a pm, but the box was full. It was a question abotu the 330mm rotors.
In theory, the larger 330 mm rotor has more power than the 310mm version. Better leverage, and better heat dissipation...in theory....
In reality, if there is a difference, I fly out and kiss your butt.
I like the look, and I paid 150.00, including shipping, for used zx10 rotors from a brand new 2016 machine.. If I had paid 650.00, or whatever they are retail, I would be crying real tears.
They are smooth, and very nice, but if its better than stock, you would need track conditions to show it, and maybe even then it would not show.
I would avoid galfer waves, but otherwise, stock is plenty good enough. The galfers are not very good. Lousy feel, and touchy. Thats why brembo makes theirs round. Im convinced.
As far as Galfer being lighter, I would have to ask, "Lighter than what?" My brembo rotor is a full 20mm larger, and weighs within 1 oz of the galfer wave. Compared to stock, the 310mm galfer is slightly heavier than the stock part....its within a few grams, but still..nothing significant.
Aslo, the 330mm diameter makes the caliper removal a challenge. It fits , but barely.
If you ever found a deal on some, like I did, grab them. They are smooth, beautiful and a really nice rotor. But not for 650.00
I think brakes are like suspension. Its easy and economical to get to the 90% performance level. If you have to have the full 100%, now you have to pay.
