The back of the gas tank is like a torpedo you sit on about 30% or more of the tank. I've never run to empty, but my fuel light comes on at about 3 gallons gone. Most I've put in is 3.3 gallons. Hard to believe there's another gallon in there.

I can vouch for the capacity quite well! When I rode it home from the dealer, I went through a stretch on Interstate 80 where I couldn't find a gas station for about 30 miles. I burned 4.2 gallons total before I coasted into a station.

This tank weighs about 5lbs less than stock and carry about 1.5 more gallons.
Gas weighs about 6 lbs a gallon so 9.lbs.

so 9 lbs. - 5 lbs. = 4 lbs.

So if you have this tank it would weigh 4. lbs more totally filled up. But the extra weight when leaning would suck. Def would need the anti slosh foam.
