Kwantum,
I usually time from Volente Beach Water Park to the big radio tower on the left as you come to the top of the hill and it's about 8 minutes for me at a comfortable pace. I try and stay away from the yellow lines, they are your enemy.

My only accident to date was due to the yellow lines! Guy pulled out in front of me. Hit the brakes, and as the front wheel touched the line, it skid out from under me. Fortunately at that stage I was only doing about 20!

I know nothing about bikes!
