for me its a rattle noise, can hear it on short burst of the throttle in neutral

Mine does that and my engine is 017xxx! It means that I'm driving a time bomb?

most likely yes. and this is why i posted up the bulletin so you can try to repair it before it blows up
if you check the first page on the bulletin, it will tell you that all engines before 018111 are eligible for that repair, i would atleast open if up and check that you have the right washers according to the bulletin and that you'r generator does have the right clearance, or... just order the parts you need and have at it, cant make things worse than it allready is

when it comes to oil, i guess i would just go with the 10w-40.
as to what this repair does, as far as i can see it just makes sure that everything sits as should (changing the 1mm spacer for the 1.2mm) aswell as checking the clearance so you dont get any vibrations and unwanted movement in the generator.
