I emailed thompson last night and they got back to me this am. You're correct, the triangle piece is to bolt to the caliper and acts as a rest for the caliper. Hopefully i'll start working on this thing soon.

Here's where the bike sits today. Swingarm on, busa shock installed. Need to order up a new chain, mount the co2 tank for the shifter, install the chain guard, install OE rear hugger.
Next pic I post should be all complete and ready to go. Will also have the custom OE seat that's been shaved in front and stepped in the back.

This doesn't necessarily fall into the traditional ZX forums, but, here's another project i've been working on this winter.
I bought this 1980 Honda XL80 from a co-worker for $100. It wasn't running when I picked it up, but a carb rebuild, fresh fuel and plug and it was up and running. Since then, i've cut down the wiring harness to now just a kill switch and keyed ignition, new protaper mini bars, 2" risers, new perches, twist throttle, grips and kill switch, new XR100 rear shocks, cables for an XR100 and new chinese 10" wheel for a crf50. Next to order is a set of street tires and build a custom exhaust. Then "Stella" will be done and ready to run me around the race track.

i shaved/shaped/lowered the front of my stk seat with 60 grit coarse sandpaper, makes for a smooth foam base. finished with a straight up 4 inch step that is slightley cupped in middle. upholstery guy glued 2 pieces of firm 2 inch foam together and shaped to tail. ur locked in place very firmly, no more squeezing seat/body and having to hang on during launch. ive tried tapered step and 2 inch step before, not near as good as 4 inch straight step.

I think I went with a 3" step. I was just eyeballing the seat after I cut it down and used a tape measure to get an idea of what it will look like. Who knows? Apparently telling the upholstery shop in December, I don't need it till April, means take until April to start the project. Had to call them last week and have them get it going.
I'm not sure if I'll have a buddy make some drag pegs for me or spend the $$ for the adams pegs?

i'm in the process of making a set using 1x2x6 inch alum bar stock, like chain adjuster blocks that slide into swingarm. remove chain adjuster blocks, locate them in arm to suit, drill outside arm into block and tap with 5/16 grade 8 bolts to mount either alum plate bracket or chrome moly peg extensions. arm will be plenty strong with block support inside all bolted tight. leaning toward a single thick wall moly tube extension/peg with one bolt to secure it and other socket head as a stop to secure positioning. should be clean setup, about $40 total. got a lot going on, march project. alum 1x2 bar stock avaliable on ebay. pd $14 tmd for 12 in 6061 grade bar.

Ordered a DRZ2 chain from ebay for $114. Aside from changing the fluids as maintenance, the bike is just about ready for race season. Track opens for TNT next weekend, but, it's going to rain like a bastard, so situation normal here in Oregon.

I did a few more little things over the weekend. Made a bracket for the CO2 tanks and a bracket for the dial in board.
Rolled it off the stand for the first time and got the bike high centered on the ramp. Apparently it's alot lower than last year.
Got the seat finished up, actually looks pretty good. I shaved all the foam off the front 1/2 of the seat, had material added to the back and had it covered.
I'm hoping for it to make it's maiden voyage down the 1320 in 2 weeks.
