akrapovic mid pipe question

just bought a v&h cs one pipe and not quite as loud as i wanted maybe 10 % more then stock,,

should i get the akra mid pipe ? will it make much difference.. i could care less about weight or hp.. someone else said the pipe diameters are off and would need to be welded and not clamped

just wanted a nice looking slip-on with a bit more sound the stock but not too loud..

This is a $300 Canadian add on that I'm not sure is worth it

When I swapped out the OEM muffler for a straight through, no baffle muffler my bike hardly increased in volume. Just like you, maybe 10-20%. Rode it like that for awhile and got so used to it. I then ditched the cat for a link pipe. Holy moly, now it sounds badass! I haven't done the smog block off plates yet so it pops a lot on deceleration but I love the popping so I don't plan on doing it anyway.

Oh sorry, I just noticed that you have 3rd gen with the cats built into the header. Not sure if your bike would get louder without swapping those out.

2013 ABS, Bridgestone T30 Evo, Woolich, Danmoto shorty & link, Rifleman's 1/5th turn, K&N, GP shift, Gen5 shock/links/dogbone, JT (-1/+0), EK, Shorai, EBC HH, AllBallz roller steering, heated grips, shorty levers, MotoDynamic signals & relay, plasti-dipped and vinyl wrapped (all green to black), Bestem carbon, PUIG Pro sliders, solo cowl, modded sprocket cover, TST fender elim. w/LEDs. 45,000km+ and going strong!

maybe I'm better to gut the cats in the headers then spending money on the akra mid pipe then?

Gutting the cat is s freaking pain. Most of the sound increase comes from removing the premuffler (boombox), not the cat. If you're looking for more sound and less weight, the link pipe is the best option.

I may not be perfect, but at least I don't ride a Suzuki.

Depends on what you're looking for. It's pretty much the only game in town when it comes to link pipes. The craftsmanship is awesome on it. Whether or not it's $200 awesome for more sound and less weight is your call. Lots of people buy them though, so that says something.
