Talking

okay... Homework is all done. Sorry for the multiple posts -but atleast you can see I was working hard! :P

I just spoke with Jake at Vortex - He picked up the phone and called me! Nice!

The *new Vortex V3 2.0 RS403K model

- works with the ABS model
- doesn't require a new brake line
- uses the stock brake light switch!
- comes with both standard and gp shift!

He mentioned this was the most difficult set of rear sets they have built! No doubt.

here's some documents...

Having just installed these exact rearsets a few days ago on my 2017 10RR, I can confirm they work with the factory abs brake line, but unless I'm missing something, and I'm pretty meticulous on my installs, there's no provisions for the factory brake light switch.

hmmm good to know.

Maybe try contacting Jake at jake@vortexracing.com
I know there was an earlier model "407" the latest one that I mentioned is the 403.

Mine just arrived at the postal center - so I should be installing them soon.

No, I'm just stating my experience in case there's people who may want a functioning brake light to buy the optional pressure switch. Did you get yours installed?

ok no worries, I contacted Vortex - sent them the link to this thread - hopefully they will chime in shortly.

Sublime, I have not installed mine as of yet. Did you set yours up with GP shift or standard?

thanks!

From Jake at Vortex... (regarding Model 403)

"We have installed a few of them and it works just fine with the stock brake switch."

One thing occured to me after reading your private message, you stated you had the GSX-R 1000, so do you have these rearsets for that bike or a 5th Gen ZX-10R? Assuming since you state model 403 we're talking about the 5th gen ZX-10R but I wanted to be sure.
If you watch this video straight from Vortex
at the 0:16 second mark you'll notice they have the brake light switch dangling right behind the frame/rearset mounts, not attached to the brake lever, or secured...meaning no factory brake light switch. Also if you go to their website, https://www.vortexracing.com/shop/pr...35/1924/28/53/ there's no mention of working with the factory brake switch on the product detail page, but they do offer the brake pressure switch, and the brake side photo shows the same detail the video does of the factory switch dangling behind the frame/rearset mount...which is exactly my experience with these rearsets. In no way am I complaining about this lol, I've been very happy with all the Vortex products I've bought, but I want people to know that Jake's statement is not the experience I'm having...it'd be great to get a response from Vortex for clarification.
