OK. So finally got around to fitting the 636 linkage to the rear of my 10. Straight from the off I can feel that the OE spring now travels more so I needed to completely reset the rider sag, I deffo need the stiffer spring ;)

On the road the bike is more forgiving, so I have also changed my rebound and comp settings to suit. A little more rebound as I the spring is set shorter to achieve the same sag, it is set so it 'just' holds the spring when releasing. Also a turn more comp damping. I got a little bit squiggly out of a turn before this change.

I only have 5 miles or so under my belt with the new links and settings so will have to see how it goes. First impressions, a change worth trying as I always felt the rear was WAY to stiff.

Bearings are all interchangeable, this was the hold up before but managed to swap the bearings from another spare that I had.

How much? It's something I've been interested in doing...

I now have lots of time on the new set up and I like it. Power on sooner out of the corner ;)

Blink; If you want the whole setup, how about 30 bucks? Let me know. Mike.

Liking this mod so far. ;)

I still have confidence in the corners, no change there. The mod has just helped to soak up some of the bumps. Knee down still easy.

My bike handles perfect for me with the stock suspension set up right and a good set of tires mounted.
exactly. I too did the mod way back then with a DBL adjustable Penske and ohlins carts for the forks, once dialed in it was a much improved ride.

Which year zx6r knuckle is ideal to use? 03/04 636 or 05/06 636?

With the zx6r knuckle, are you also using the zx6r linkage bars or using the 10r gen1 original linkage bars?

I hope this dated thread answers your questions, if not do a seach of wstabbs threads as i believe there's more where this one came from.

Wstaab's 05 636 dogbone / rocker parts

Addendum: Once i purchased and performed the install of said parts it transformed the Gen1 from a tasmanian devil to, ummm lets say a tamed cougar. This setup is what the Hayden bros(tommy & RL) used on their respective race bikes that benefited them greatly during the race season.

I did it, because I ride solo, and Big Daddy's info made sense. I like what it did for me.

I ride old mountain roads, tight twisties/switch backs, and can be rough surfaces.
Big Daddy likes this.
