Shock linkage swap info?

So, a few months ago a member, Johnszx10 i believe, mentioned something in another thread about how a shock linkage from a zx6r might provide better feedback for solo riding. Just wanted to learn more about this as i only ride solo and always welcome making my bike more responsive in that area. Seems like it would be a cheap enough "mod" if its possible. I've searched a little but havent found much.

So - anyone have info on what works well? What years zx6r's? Anyone have first hand experience with this mod? I have a GenII/06 btw.
