R&G rear sets

Hey guys

Has Anyone fitted r&g rear sets to an abs model gen 4?

Did you have to remove the swing arm to get the new brake hose connected to the abs or was there some magic you performed?

Remove the swingarm? For a brake line? Please put down the wrench and step away from the bike.

Now, why would you think you'd have to do that? First off, the brake line connects to the rear master cylinder. There is a banjo bolt on the top connecting the line. And the master cylinder screws to the rearset. So, there should be no reason you can't unbolt the MC from the rearset and leave it alone. It will just bolt the R&G rearset like the OEM. Shouldn't have to remove the brake line at all. So I'm not sure why you'd think you'd have to remove the swingarm for any reason trying to put rearsets on the bike. Should take about 30 mins or so to do that job.

I may not be perfect, but at least I don't ride a Suzuki.

On ABS models, with some rearsets the rear master cylinder can't stay in the same position as stock, so it will require a longer rear line (the one that goes to the abs module) to make it possible to fit. As for the manual, it requires the disassembly of the swing arm to remove that hose, but I don't know if there's some sort of a trick to do this without remove it. The best solution for me is opt for a rearsets kit that doesn't require the reposition of the master cylinder.

Yeah, I get why longer lines would be needed, especially with adjustable rearsets that move the MC back and aft. And the service manual acutally says to remove the swingarm. I don't know of anyone who has actually done that though. Presumably that is to gain access to the clamps running the line along the swingarm pivot. There has to be a way to do it without full removal of the arm. That would be very tedious.
