I have a gen 1 and a new go pro do I need to use my clear screen for better picture and where do you recommend i place the camera?

I use my clear wind screen, and usually mount either on my gas tank or on the right or left side of the fender by my frame slider so you can see the wheel come off the ground and when ya lean into turns ya get inches from the ground, it looks sick!!!
