As some of you know I just lost a case for a speeding ticket on the zx10r ($350 + $20 for traffic school) but at least got to go to traffic school. Well today I notice in my Security cameras a CHP car parked in font of my house looking for speeders...no Biggie and my son 10 almost 11yrs old with about 5 friends outside playing. So I see in the video monitor the CHP calling over the Kids to his trunk to give out stickers or something. I also see him walking over by my cars but didn't pay attention. :badteeth: Next my son knocks on the garage door and tells me the Cop left something on my truck like a notice....I go and inspect the damm cop didn't see any speeders but noticed in his rear view mirror I forgot to put the new registration tag on and sited me $50....I had the dang registration sticker in my car and forgot. :BangHead: ...and kid :bitchslap why didn't you tell me sooner. :badteeth: Oh well just ranting and pissed my fault but California is making bank on me lately. :badteeth::badteeth:

Damn Bloo, I would be seriously pissed. Can't you go and show that you have it and get the ticket waived or something?

Damn Bloo, I would be seriously pissed. Can't you go and show that you have it and get the ticket waived or something? I have to research if it's a Fix it ticket...it seems I need to go to the CHP office anyway and have it signed off that I was registered.:dontknow::badteeth:

As long as you have proof of registration it should be waived. Cali law may be different though.

I would be livid. I didn't know they could ticket you if it was on your property. Who says it hadnt been sitting there for the past 6months not being driven?

It was on the street public property...I messed up and didn't realize I never put the new tag on....I'm just pissed the CHP Cop befriended my son and then gives me a ticket at the same time. If the Cop didn't care about money I could have put the sticker on in 10secs..but it doesn't work that way in Cali. :headshake:badteeth:

Still I would be upset about the two faced cop also. Good luck with the tickets.

There certainly isn't an asshole shortage in your part of town. I'm NEVER going riding with you-you're bad luck!! The last time I got a fix it ticket (for the same thing) I went to court to get it squared away. I still had to pay a fee for 'court costs' or some such horseshit. :bs: Maybe the state will put you on a payment plan! :spit::crackup: I'm sorry, I just couldn't help it. I'm probably going to get ticketed now.

Hey even us LEOs have kids. Some of the best contacts you can have in the course of a day is with the children you meet. Nothing Nazi/Fascist about it. Quit perpetuating the negative, anti-authority BS you always offer, Static and grow up. I received the same cite/violation 8 months ago. Sure I was irritated, but I took responsibility and blamed only myself. Perhaps that Chippie gave out the stickers at that time because the opportunity was there with the kids passing by. The vehicle wasnt going anywhere, so maybe thats why he did that after. Bottom line, its a fix-it ticket that has only a court filing admin fee. Do you realize the bad timing and coincidence just makes it feel like one is being personally attacked? How about reporting those deadbeat neighbors we all have, who maintain their out-of-state plates in order to avoid CA's higher reg fees? Perhaps that contributing factor is why CA's budget is so bad. CHP officers just tend to be more observant of the other little things like non-current reg tab stickers.

Cali seems to be strict as hell. I'll take FL anyday, we get away with everything. Just don't speed, FHP loves hiding all over 95 and 75.

dont they know you are a mod? :+1::lol::crackup: sorry Bloo, not poking fun at the situation or anything as i know it's shitty but doesn't he know who he's messing with?!!:dontknow: i know in TX there's a 10 day grace period for tickets like that but i think Cali is a little stricter? that does suck about him talking to the kinds and handing out stickers then turning right around and showing them how he earns his living more than 90% of the time by writing a :bs: ticket to help fill quota. my personal favorite is whenthe cops here will set at the U turns under the freway and catch people for tags n no seat belt!! i always want to yell at them "go catch a fuggin bad guy ya lazy pricks!!" but what are we to do?

I am better today(maybe the long ride on the 10R helped today )....was really pissed yesterday with me, the cop and my son not warning me but realize he is just a kid and didn't know what was going down. I hope it's just a fix it ticket but doubt it because it says on ticket fine $50 :dontknow:....my fault and the Cop did his job so can't bitch about that I should have had the sticker on. bloo

Just an update..this week I decided to take my truck to the CHP(California Hwy Patrol) and the Chipper came out looked at my Sticker now installed and signed it off. But here's the kicker I was thinking now what do I do....so I asked the CHP officer do I pay and he said just follow the instructions on the ticket. Well the instructions says to my best reading get in signed off and send in the $50 BUT..BUT when I called City Hall they said it was a FIX IT TICKET you only OWE $10..not even the CHP guy knew that or maybe he did KNOW :shady: and wanted me to pay full price. Turned out good, took a 1 hour Lunch on my 10R the next day with Ticket in pocket, really only 30mins round trip on a nice 70deg day(so a little longer ) and Paid ONLY $10 but would never had known because the CHP that signed off didn't tell me or would have never have known if I just listened to the CHP officer and sent a check in for $50 if it wasn't for the fact I called City Hall Directly....so got a good Lunch Break Ride on my bike and paid little in the end. bloo
