Does the steering damper sit across the triple tree or bolt to the frame? Might be a stupid question but I've seen it both ways.

Just to demonsrate, here's a pic of it on my bike when I had it on the street; http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b89/nammiami/PICT2248.jpg This is quite possibly, IMO, the best steering dampener I've ever used. It felt as if it provided more stability for headshake, and looked much better & cleaner than the units who just bulk up across the triple.
