: Why the hate for Yoshimura?
Otto Man 10-19-2008, 08:29 PM Been searching for some slipon's for my 1st gen, and see a lot of negativity towards Yoshimura. Why is this? Is it because they were associated with 'Zuki for the longest time? A good friend of mine is selling his bling slip on at a GREAT price, and it's mint, can't even tell it's used aside from the exhaust carbon inside the pipe. It seems to have decent constuction and good fitament, just wondering why the majority frown upon them?
Nick.INF 10-19-2008, 08:32 PM i think its because everyone has one :dontknow:
PumpinIron 10-19-2008, 08:32 PM Own one for about 6 months and you'll find it continues to get louder and louder. I think the packing in the exhaust is really crappy and over time it really just breaks down to nothing and eventually the exhaust (even just a slip-on) becomes so loud it's almost unbearable to most!
glockt 10-19-2008, 08:37 PM because everybody in here has a Akra full system, and if you mention some body else besides Racefit you need to be castrated.
thats why I put a set of TRC Yoshi's on my 06 wheel barrow, because no-one else talked about them, all my other Kaws had Yoshi systems.
perform well, last longer than carbon fiber, and alot cheaper than paying for a high popular over rated name.
whats not to like?it's your bike, who cares what everyone elses opinnion is.
My guess would be because they are generally thought of as the exhaust that Gixxer guys have. I personally dont have any issue with them, i just dont care for the styling of most of them.

im not castrating ya but, trust me... there are alot of people on here with a yoshimura exhaust
Patrick 10-19-2008, 08:43 PM Its because they don't make the power the others do.
lunitk 10-19-2008, 08:47 PM I have a carbon fiber yosh and it is a good exhaust. Only issue I had with it was how long it was but a couple of hours and some hacking cutting and its all good.

I was just wondering if there was an actual reason to avoid them, like if sometimes they just spontaneously combust or something. The price was too good to pass up, and it'll look a million times better than the stock muffler.
magzx12r 10-19-2008, 09:02 PM I have had Yosh exhausts on (2) of my Kawasakis and (1) Honda with no issues. Get it if you like it.

Bloo
Its true. Probably will never change, especially with the Yoshimura Suzuki team being so dominant in AMA right now
thrill 10-20-2008, 01:28 AM I have got a hindle on mine.... They seem to be zuk as well. I don't really give a rat's arse, cos I like it and that is what counts
or10r 10-20-2008, 04:28 AM No hate here. I like the Yoshi products.
Nothing wrong with Yosh's pipes.... we sell a ton of them with 99.5% problem free fit, finish & performance.
Great products and customer service.

 agree 100%.....I put Yosh on both my bikes:thumbsup:
Ervins 10-20-2008, 08:17 AM I have Leo Vince...I had a Yoshi on my 600RR.
alto zx-10 10-20-2008, 09:53 AM Seems a lotta folks don't remember when Pops Yoshimura campaigned Kawasakis back in the 70's before hooking up with Suzuki. As far as HP production goes the difference between one brand of slip-on compared to another is too minor to be perceived. As one well known east coast tuner likes to say, "A 2 inch hole is a 2 inch hole." But a recent comparison shoot out in either BIKE or Performance Bike had a Yosh TRC slip-on outpowering all the others- including Akrapovic. I think I posted those results somewhere a couple of months ago...
KawieKrazy 10-20-2008, 10:07 AM I dont hate inanimate objects, its an exhaust pipe, move on
master link 10-20-2008, 10:34 AM I love yoshimura exhaust, had a full system on my 88 zx-10 & no problems, had a yoshi rs-3 ss s/o on my 01 gsx-r 1k and i put 43,000 miles and it still sounded good,& just this last saturday i installed a CF trc s/o on my 08 10R and it looks and sounds great. you should go ahead and buy the exhaust, you wont be disappointed!!!
pongo 10-20-2008, 11:52 AM nothing wrong with yosh..ran it on my 04 10R and have a full yosh system on my 7R track bike.
ZiG 9th 10-20-2008, 12:10 PM Nothin wrong with the yoshi's they look good. But for some reason I fell into that yosh= suz-sucki and Muzzy=Kawi! And I never knew about Kawi being linked to yosh in the 70's as that was before my time I was still in the fallopian tubes. I dunno just somethin about puttin a yosh on a kawi just doesn't seem right? Kinda like a 49er fan rockin a Dallas Cowgirl hat? :dontknow: lol!! And then the way the suzuki guys worship their suzuki bikes with their yosh exhst just makes you not wanna be associated with yosh at all. I dunno that's just the way I see it. But they're not bad lookin, get what you want. IMO itz all about being different, an havin somethin that no one else has. And almost everyone has a yosh.
twidget 10-20-2008, 03:48 PM Got the CF one on my 08, no complaints. It *does* get loud as you rev up into the sweet spot--I just wear ear plugs.
Nick.INF 10-20-2008, 04:05 PM I dont hate inanimate objects, its an exhaust pipe, move on
garth285 10-20-2008, 04:13 PM I've been rocking a yoshi on my 04 since I've had her.... no complaints other then pipe dis-coloration.....
Red Runner 10-21-2008, 04:36 AM I was just wondering if there was an actual reason to avoid them, like if sometimes they just spontaneously combust or something. The price was too good to pass up, and it'll look a million times better than the stock muffler.
Yoshi's are good pipes
nnorz 10-21-2008, 07:43 AM hv e dual tip titanium yoshi slip on......
i'm loving every bit of it.......
bcm0018 10-21-2008, 07:44 AM No hating from me, go for it
madnessracing 10-21-2008, 01:35 PM To my eyes looking at a yosh pipe is like looking at suzuki and I dont want to have that lil mix on my bike!! But other than that It's a great pipe.
drkramm 10-21-2008, 02:17 PM had a yoshi on my 636
have one on my ten
and who know when i get the 1098
modpup 10-21-2008, 09:38 PM like i said before, my 1st choice would have been akrapovic. however, i believe they are lacking in development. they take too long to release their new pipes. i went with yosh and am happy. yosh makes great products
or10r 10-22-2008, 04:26 AM :thumbsup:to you modpup. Thats a sweet lookin' 10, and the Yosh looks great on it.
milo5171 10-22-2008, 04:42 AM I have a Yoshi Tri oval bolt on on my 05 looks and sounds sweet
