Congrats on the new purchase. I know how you feel i've always rode Honda's in the past. Then i bought a 05 and was sad to see what i've been missing for the last 10 yrs.

Brakes on the 06 07 10r need a little help.If You plan on doing track days or hard canyon carving at the minimum replace the stock fluid with something of your choice. My first track day I boiled the fluid so a fluid with a higher boiling point would help.

im a kawi guy for life too...love the bikes more than anything i have ever owned/ridden. you can fix the brakes for a couple hundred bucks, with the money you saved you can easily upgrade them. Check ervins thread about the cbr calipers.

If you ever find yourself back in the dirt, KTM is the only way to go. I absolutey LOVE my '03 525EXC. If there is a dirt equvilant of the ZX-10, the 525/newer 530 is it!

Congrats on the find. I've been a Kawboy for decades. Literally. Rode all the old triple two-smokes in the 70's. Also had one of the first proper Kaw MX'ers. The 450KX two-smoke. 1974 I believe it was. Owned and sold Husqvarnas throughout the 70's and 80's and the local Kaw dealer came to me as soon as the 450 came out in 74 and asked if I'd like to race it a time or two to give it some exposure. How could I say no. You'll love the ZX and that red looks awesome. A Ferrari on two wheels.

After doing some research I learned the 07 ZX10R is all the 2006 GSXR1000 is - and then a lot more too, especially in stock trim. ! how would you know without riding them both for comparison sake?

Congrats. A riding buddy and I switched bikes yesterday. He took my '04 10r while I rode his '07 BMW K1200S. We rode some good twisties around Catoctin Mountain in Maryland. Afterwards he said, and I kid you not, "Man, riding your bike has caused me to lower my opinion of mine tremendously." The one bike I have not ridden for comparison yet is the Gixxer 1K. Otherwise, R1s, CBRs, Bimmers,... I'd say the 10r has 'em all beat. Of course, I'm biased too.

congrats man, welcome to the kawi fam. the front brakes is a easy fix..theres alot of options but it depends on your budget i chose to go with gsxr 1000 06 front calipers they fit perfect the only diff..is thay have 2 pads instead of 4 pads..big change much better brakes with one finger no fading

Congrats! The more common name for the ZX10 is "Beast" or "Monster" I will give you about 1 month before you are back posting "Holy Ship" I was doing "X" and the bike had way more to go. Again congrats and welcome aboard! Now don't start harassing Busa's, ZX14's etc. like some people on this board hahahah.

The dyno charts were a good start!! How the bike rides is all personal taste/style/etc IMO. I look more to specs after 30+ years riding experience, than to looks or ergos, or 'how it rides'. I can adapt to any bike, as long as the 'main package' is what I want to begin with. I can easily change it to 'ride how I want' so how the bike rides stock is not the 'end-all' selling point for me. Just for a small comparison - take the 07 zx10r @ 6,700RPM - it makes 16 more HP and 12 ft lbs more torque than the R1 @ that same 6,700RPM. It similarly has a very large advantage on all the other bikes in midrage too - where I ride 90% of the time. The dyno chart was a HUGE selling point on the ZX10R to me, and many other I suspect. To be honest I couldnt care any less what ANY of the other bikes "ride like". Considering how I feel about my 10R right now ther is nothing anyone or any bikes specs could do to change my mind. I allready have my bike. If I could do it all over again, I would buy the exact same thing. I have the exact oposite of buyer remorse with the 2007 ZX10R. I keep finding more and more about the ZX I like and more and more I DONT like or care for about the gixxer. After the fact and my purchase - I did ride them both - I prefer the ZX10R. so you bought a bike based on dyno charts, but then say you don't care about the specs? why are you comparing to the weakest engined litre bike anyway, the R1? most of the 2006 comparos end something like this one: http://www.motorcycle.com/shoot-outs/2006-open-superbike-shootout-3677.html I personally bought a zx10 cause its truly in a 600 package, and its a really fun trackbike....not to mention it won most comparos in 2004. I also got a 2007 GSXR1000 as a street bike because it also won the comparos that year. Wondering how hard you rode the GSXR1000 and what you didn't like.

Congrats, i think you will be happy. And budget or not Kawi kicks ass, Bubba Stewart Here's a bit of a shocker Stewart signed with Yamaha and won the US open on it first time out.He also signed with Answer riding gear. Reed Signed with Suzuki.

2007ZX10R you made a good choice.Welcome to the forum.Like Evrins mentioned get some CBR1000 calipers good HH pads,Steel braided brake lines and better brake fluid.Cost you less than 200 bucks for all.You won't be able to wipe the smile off your face.

I bought a used liter bike because I cant begin to afford a new bike. I honestly didnt look at any specs until after I bought my used/abused bike with this purchase - because price was the ultimate factor. I was simply pontificating in the other thread how I would go about buying a new bike, if I could. When I close by saying "I dont care about specs/ratings because I have my bike" what I'm really saying is no matter what the dyno chart says - I dont have enough money to buy what I want anyways. I picked on the weakest liter bike for many reasons. Mainly because I am a demasculated, weak & pathetically small man looking to boost my ego because I only have a weak used 2007 ZX10R and tiny bank account. I didnt ride the GSXR very hard at all. I havent ever owned a full liter bike before, and havent ridden street bikes in almost 10 years. The bike was not mine. Between trying to be respectful of someone else bike; my very rusty skill(s); heavy traffic at night ; crappy pot holed roads I am unfamiliar with; and any other "squid" excuse I can come up with - I didnt ride it hard at all. It was more like a spirited moped ride. It was hardly a ride worth making a determination about the bike. I may as well have simply sat on it; or just looked at it as it drove by for that matter. haha!!!!! Lovin the sarcasm!!!! Classic material!
