: 16 T question
Up2par 10-09-2008, 10:39 AM Well, I have decided to go with a 16t front sprocket on my 08 ZX 10 . Can someone chime in and tell me the part number that I need for the OEM replacement that may not be so noisy and or give a recommendation of brand to get. Thanks

I tried an inexpensie Sunstar to see what it was like - not noisy at all, speedo error is about 11%.
08ten 10-09-2008, 11:02 AM I sprung for a slightly more expensive one than Sunstar, but not OEM. I have zero noise from my Driven sprocket setup and would higly recommend it. I was intimidated by all the hellish install experiences but after getting a breaker bar, socket, and extension install was a breeze. The two hardest parts were taking my bike to a ghetto mechanic and asking if I could use his impact wrench to crack the counter shaft nut off and scooping out all the factory chain lube from the sprocket cover. It took about 45 minutes from start to finish.
Arch Enemy 10-10-2008, 09:16 AM +1, I installed a Driven 520 driveset, very happy with it. I used an impact gun to remove the front nut, just make sure you leave the trans in neutral, very important! I bought my set from motomummy, it very easy. Select a brand, select front and rear tooth count and you can even choose from several different chains, + free shipping. I highly recommend a riveted master link instead of a clip. I dont trust the clip deal...

I have a sunstar 16t and it whines so loud by friends make fun. They say it sounds like I have a supercharger or a jet engine. That's right before I turn on the afterburners and smoke em'.
I have a new Driven 16t that I will be insalling this weekend

Took about 30 mins. to install.
Jingalls1000 10-14-2008, 09:07 PM :+1: to everyone that said Driven. I love their sprockets, good quality, good price, and fairly simple to install.

mapcom1 10-16-2008, 09:21 AM so overall review of the 16T?
I have one but haven't installed it yet because I'm giving Bikes (busa's, 1000's, fellow 14's) hell already.
Usually from 50-70 then we take off (highways and back roads) Im scared ill loose my little edge since im not drag racing so i dont need that edge from 0-70. mostly roll ons.
Im assuming ill still keep my edge but around 150-160 they'll start reeling me in with the 16T????
