With the limited practice time (rain) so far it looks like the Suzukis are quickest. http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2005/Mar/e/n050309k.htm BD

Gotta go for Zemke. He did an excellent job for Erion Honda last year and now he is on the factory team. I think he's gonna be pretty quick this year. Especially after last year at Daytona.

I voted Mladin because who can beat him on a new machine? Isn't the 200 not being run for superbikes anymore? So how many laps will they be doing?

Big Daddy
03-10-2005, 10:40 AM
Ok lets be fair......yes Mladink can be beat and has been so its not as though no one else wins AMA SBK races. Is he the Fav? probably so BUT if anyone recalls DIS 04 Mladin was not a front runner until midway as the Hondas were clearly the dominate bike with better than avg riders. Yes he has a new toy to play with, yes the Hondas are a 2nd year machine and more refined. The 200 will be FX 600's starting this year and the SBK race will be a typical race of some 15 laps. http://www.superbikeplanet.com/2005/Mar/e/n050309e.htm BD

The master of the draft will be on top the podium. Would like to see a previous Daytona winner, ride a properly outfitted ZX10r Superbike. Migel might make an interesting candidate-crafty ole' bastard.

hodgson will be up there  The ducati's have a better chance this year. The reconfigured track places less emphasis on sustained wide open throttle, since there is much less banking to run on. This could lengthen the ducatis short fuse. Please edit out the drug usage photo, it shows you at your worst moment.

Only a crash or mechanical failure will keep Mladin from winning the Superbike race. The Superstock race proved what I have been saying for months, Mladin gave Suzuki a shopping list of what he needed on the G1K and they built it for him. It is one heck of a race bike.

Andy

It sure looks that way after 2 World SBK races and todays superstock. 1-2-3 G1K

Had to go with Zemke & I fuggin hate Honda with a passion but he looked to have the best lines around the new parts of the track. We'll all know soon enough anyway and unless something drastic happens it is'nt look good for the Green team out there. Wish Kaw would step up to the plate with some serious support as the saying goes wish in one hand & shiot in the other see wich fills up first. Hope to get some good pics to post at the track tomorrow will be at the old dog leg in the infield if any of you are going to be there drop by and say hi, got the green 10 with the maiden seat cover see ya !

I don't know what the AMA is thinking. Why would the 600 Supersport race be 22 laps and the Superbike race be only 15 laps? They should have made it a double Superbike weekend at least. I didn't expect it to be the big drafting battle that it used to be since, they cut out half of the banking. But all of the races just to seem to be a parade. Everyone could have guessed that the 200 F-X farce would be a Honda parade since they are the only factory team contesting the event. I am a big Duhamel fan but this race does need to have an asterik beside it in the record books. Of course we will have to hear about the "fastest production 600" winning the Daytona 200, as Honda cranks up their propaganda machine.

Of course we will have to hear about the "fastest production 600" winning the Daytona 200, as Honda cranks up their propaganda machine. Tell me about it. Honda won't stand a chance if Kawi put as much money in it as they did. With the new powerhouse 600, Kawi could eaisly win the catagory. But Kawi is saving money for some strange reason. Let's just hope they put it towards the superbike effort.

They are spending it all in GP...I dont think they have many sponsors yet and are doing most stuff in house like Suzuki

zeta xray
03-14-2005, 05:17 PM
Probably Kawasaki's biggest problem with their racing budget is the lime green bikes. Think about it. Kawasaki does not seek or want outside primary sponsors. You have never seen a "Marlboro Kawasaki" and you probably never will because a major primary sponsor might want the bike to be painted red, God forbid. So all of their racing budget comes out of their own pocket and that severly limits what they can do. Honda seeks outside money in MotoGP and so does everyone else, except Kawasaki. Maybe they need to talk to Sprite or 7-Up.

or the 'Pumkin Brigade' yea thats the ticket!! :badteeth: BD I would have to say that the best looking "race" ZX10s that I have seen, was one of dem ugly pumkin looking thing's painted in Red Bull livery. BTW, I saw the perfect pumkin the other day. It was decorated with 8 to 10 chrome spikes about 2 inches tall. They were all in a line down the center of the tail section. Wish I would have had my camera. No one would ever think about desecrating a green ZX10 like that.

I never cared for dohamel and when I saw him trow rocks in the track after his teammate Boz took him out, I just have nothing for him. Yea its a well know fact that honda buys titles. They will spend the doe to tilt things there way and wont run a bike in a class they know they dont have chance at winning. :thefinger
