I talked to Vortex on Friday and the rep said the '06/'07 Vortex rearsets work on the '08. He also said the left and right brackets could be swapped to lower the rearsets from the stock position. Has anyone done this on the '08? Are there any clearance issues with the fairing or anything else when lowering the footpegs? Do your boots rub the exhaust? If I can lower the rearsets, I will more than likely get the '08 ZX-10R instead of the ZX-14 and 1098 I was considering.

I'm running the 06-07 Attacks on my 08. Had to buy a shorter heel gaurd for the left side so it didn't hit the swingarm, but otherwise perfect fit. I put them up 4 Sale cheap but no takers. Now I am glad they didn't sell because I love em. So I would guess the same would apply with the Vortex's. 06-07's Vortex probably would fit the 08 also. JJ

I am in the process of switching my vortex rearsets from 06 to 08. I ran into one problem with the brake side not sure how to change out brake light switch. I will be installing the factory rearsets on the 2006. So, I am not sure how to put the switch on the 06 to the factory switch pin? Their was only one problem mounting the gear shift side, the shift rod rubs the kick side spring. So, to fix it I just move the rearset up 1 level on the adjustable bracket.

I got Arata's and they are too high in the low position and can't do GP shift....sucks...I need to hire a machinist to machine a specific shift rod to go around the bottom of the rearset so I can have GP shift....what was Kawi thinking???????

I don't think I'll be getting rearsets for mine. The ground clearance on the stock pieces are excellent unlike with the gen1, I was dragging toes all the time on that bike. The grip on the pegs are good too.

The 08's hang on my peg board gathering dust. Shame really. JJ

I only installed the Attacks because I had bought them for my 06 and by chance they fit the 08:lol: The stock 08 pegs do the job and they're black too:thumbsup:

I really do like the Attacks and am still surprised no one bought mine when I had them up for sale for $300.00 shipped with a pressure switch AND with the shorter right side heel gaurd for the 08. The Attacks are IMO far superior to Vortexs I have seen. Not even close. Sometimes we get lucky. Im glad no one bought them. I love em. But the 08's are nice stock rearsets. I put mine up 4 Sale on eBay and not a single bid. May be a little early to start selling OEM 08 parts. Probably will try again in 6 months or so. JJ

Have a search on here and you'll find a fair bit of info. My Vortex rear sets are on "upside down," and the only issues are the shift rod and the kickstand spring (I bent the spring to clear the rod) and my left boot (a size 50, so if your boots are smaller, you may not have this issue) heel rubbing the inside radius of the swing arm. I've installed 3m clear film, but my boot has hit the top edge and worn through, so I have to get something else to adhere and protect it. Otherwise, keep your feet up high (the balls of your feet should be on the pegs, anyway), so you don't drag toe, which I've done. G/L. I'm thinking about just getting some aftermarket foot pegs like the LSL roadrace footpegs. http://spieglerusa.com/cfm/footbrakets.cfm They are $70 for both. Cheaper than a full set up aftermarket rear sets especially since 08 ground clearance is already good.
