Hi, I heared, that the tachometers from an amerikan zx-10r are not speedlimited. Does it, or not? Can anyone does change/switch the tachometer from miles to km/h for testing it? Only, anyone have the possibility for doing this! In Germany the tachometers don`t run over 299km/h! Best regards, SMY:wink:

In Canada, they don't show over 299 either. I'm pretty sure that the instrument cluster worldwide is the same part number ...

As far as I know, US speedometers are limited to 186 or 189 mph.

I think on US models we can make it read above 189 is you get the speedo healer and make your gauge run in kph and then use the speedohealer to convert kph to mph. but i dont think you can do it that way since we only read up to 189.

I looked in my dealers part list. Where is the different? I hoped, it was the speedlimiter! :dontknow: SMY

Thank you. Did you tested it? Hell yes! It's easier to test with lower gearing and no speedo healer, BTW.

Hi there. Speedo WILL NOT read over 189 or 299 in kph. Speed will still increase as you can notice the revs still rising but will not read any higher than those figures stated. :)

Strap a gps to your bike so you know how fas your really going. Speedos are highly inaccurate at high speed.

I know that, but its look funny, when the speedo takes over 299. I like it! After 299, my Maschine does put on over 1000/min SMY

wah? dude what r u talking about? I think he's tryin to say he still has another 1000 rpm till redline when the speedo hits 299kmp. His speedo definately is not calibrated.

I think he's tryin to say he still has another 1000 rpm till redline when the speedo hits 299kmp. His speedo definately is not calibrated. ..As all other speedos too! Stock ones. I was thinking long time ago how to "unrestrict speedo" (there is no restriction in cars, so why on bikes?). But sadly among many tuning things you can do to your bike, nobody makes speedo unrestriction... And lets not speak about calibration, true gps speed, blablabla. I want to see 300+ kph on my bike (as on good old 2000 R1....)

I don't know about the new GSXR's but I remember the early 2000's would say ERR when the speedo ran out of speedo fluid.
