ok i have read the "sell me on the 14" so here ya go... Once again the zx14 still continues to impress me....and its still stock. {wow as i write this UPS calls  } anyway. the zx 14 is smoother than the zx10r. it is heavier {no shit} however corners well. not geat but well! better than a busa. working on this thing has been nice so far. oil filter and plug right beside each other and NO fairings to remove. the only REAL downside to the bike's weight is putting it on the stands....you had better have some ass on that lift bar. I havent went under the tank yet but i will be very soon. PARTS... I have ran into a interesting problem... The go fast parts are everywhere however the bike jumps in leaps and bounds with hp increases with minor upgrades. so the REAL COOL go fast parts are hard to find. the 04 zx10 was easier to buy for. so if you want A holly mother of god amount of hp your going to have to dig a bit. But if you want a wow thats allot of hp youll be fine. Once again this bike is extreamly comforitable.... Weight! man there is room to shed weight EVERYWHERE!!!!!! the bar ends are 2.5lbs....EACH!!!!!! the exhaust is almost 45lbs!!!!!! the passenger pegs weigh a crapload too! Im thinking i cant get below a zx10's weight but i think i can get close! maybe even within 20-25lbs! but then comes in the big ol traction monster.... so we will see! There ya go folks 1000 mile review! Randy

OH!!!! the zx14 WILL NOT PASS THE 186mph {300kph} MARK WITH OUT A SPEEDO HEALER!!! talked with brock davis himself to find this out. you can take your spedo out by removing pins but i like those!!!! lol

I second the above.. one note on the weight, switching to an aftermarket exhaust (full not the slipons stuff) will make such a difference that you can actually FEEL the weight loss. My complete Yoshi system weighs less than just ONE can off the stock exhaust. An exhaust and power commander make it meaner but for a really fun ride (as long as you respect it) removing the secondary butterfly's really turn the machine on. 25-30 extra ft lbs of torque at 3000 rpms, wheelie in first gear at ANY rpm makes it a blast. I streached mine just to keep the front tire on the ground but now all it does is big smokey burnouts.

Nice review...If you guys think of anything else keep the comments coming...I have a question...What kind of RPM is required for 70 MPH in 5th or 6th gear ? Interesting considering that Kawasaki's new sport tourer is based on the ZX14....Here's a test and some comments on the new concours 14.. http://www.motorcycledaily.com/19july07_2008kawasaki_concours14_pt2.htm "That opinion is this. Kawasaki has hit a home run. Frankly, this is one of the best motorcycles I have ever tested."

I've thought about getting the C14 because of the rave reviews it's getting. Too bad Kawi is only making it in silver. :heyyou: Maybe get one and paint it ZX Green :)

Mine cruises at about 3800 to 4200 between 75-85.dropping the "big Guns" and put on a full Muzzy with power commander makes a bid difference.I keep hitting my footpegs now.For more comfort I install the helibar risers and corbin rearset relocators and a Puig DB winscreen and throttle lock!In 1 year and 2 months I've over 14,000 miles on it.I did over 6,000 in june alone!!!! My poor 04 10 sits in the garage getting the vavle cover and new sparkplugs, gold Pazzo levers,Galfer rear brake pads and hardly any riding now!!!And I'm railing the crap out of my 06 636. My local Kawi dealer is getting 2 Concours in and he's gonna let me test ride on to get my input.I might have to ride it for a day though:idea: to get a decent impresion!!!

at 75mph 6th=4k 5th=4500 4th=5300 and that's with a speedo healer runnin. 4th gear is a fun fun gear from 50-150mph

My 14 is awesome I traded my 04 10 in for it and I don't regreat it a bit. I have it streached lowered, with a race air filter and a full system and powercommander w/quickshifter. It is awesome to ride and race. As for parts and ideas zx14.net is the best site out there about this bike.
