: race again a r1 04
the same guy and same R1 in last thread but with one teeth down on front sprocket, bmc and tuned. My 10R: FULL AKRA AND PC3. race also a gsxr 04 with full racing yosh and pc3.
there is nothing they can do to avoid losing. the R1 is badly tuned, the guy was disapointed. get video of that but don't know how posting it
You'd have to find a site that hosts videos and host it there. Then give us the link.
Or, you could email the vid to me and I could get it hosted for you.

miykl 12-03-2004, 08:58 AM dag gum dang fuggit!! I've got a pesky 04 R1 that beats up on everyone. This guy always has very finely tuned bikes, plus a 30 pound weight advantage, but damn it's frustrating! Can't wait to see what the V-stacks did for me. Haven't had a break in the weather to do any real riding.. auuurggg!! Good Kill btw!
I never got that video.:dontknow:i already sent it to you, answer me if well done or not

Have you done any comparo with it prior to the stacks??
BD
miykl 12-03-2004, 04:01 PM Ya, he drops me from the hit and keep stretching the lead. He has V-stacks, full exhuast, K&N, custom mapping, and who knows what else.
Big Daddy 12-03-2004, 04:23 PM pretty impressive since yours is geared and whatever.
BD
miykl 12-03-2004, 04:30 PM His bike is unreal. He goes back and forth with a guy on a 02 Gixxer 1K that has a completely built motor (crank, pistons, cams...). the gixxer is supposed to be putting down in the neighborhood of 190 HP, but the rider is probably about 240lbs and the r1 guy is about 185lbs.
Frankyoz 12-03-2004, 06:04 PM time for a diet in the name of victory

maybe you can get Marisa to help you... :heyyou:
the problems is mine, my net connection is too bad, called a friend to send it to Andy, the files are very big about 115mo.this should be fixed today or tomorrow. Next week-end should race an 1000rr and the same r104 the guy tuned his yam. They are not verry pleased to race me and my 10. i'd perhaps take a complete stock 10 to race them.
test

Rspec99 12-06-2004, 02:59 PM Man... the sound is simply amazing!
From the looks of the vid, it looks like the 10R gets the jump and holds the advantage.
Thanks for the vid....anymore?

I had this very same problem all year witha perticular R1, well ridden, about same weight rider as me. I removed the gear for the exhaust valve and it was a
night and day difference when we reraced. we had to do it 3 times cuz neither he nor me believed it. Mine is all stock cept' muzzy ti slip on and BMC race, NO PCIII and i have NO drivability issues.I will not remap this perticular bike.

are you referring to disabling the exhaust valve? hence always open?
BD
Catfish_ 12-07-2004, 11:18 PM yes. i also safety wired the cable end open to make sure there was no chance of it slamming shut for any reason. This R1 dyno'd on the same dyno i did, he made 159 and i made 150 with less than 1k miles. i got around 3500 or so on it now and he added graves stacks since the dyno day. He used to KILL me before my simple mods, slip on, valve, etc. Then ive noticed as i get miles on it, it has definitly grown stronger. I cant imagine what my 10 makes now or what it would with a full system, but at this point im not seeing a need for it. Disabling the valve obviously shows no gain on dyno but watch how slow that valve opens, and imagine both bikes hitting it at same time, it takes a good couple of seconds for that valve to open, AFTER it closes some when you crank the throttle. thats the difference between pulling away a couple bike lengths or getting pulled on. It made a huge difference in my bike drivability wise( roll ons)

Those were my exact thoughts. My bike gets a better jump when doing our second gear roll ons with the valve disabled.
Big Daddy 12-08-2004, 11:21 AM I know this topic has been beat to death pretty much but aside from the roll-on whack it open kinda stuff has the around town cruzin 3-4k riding suffered ?
BD
miykl 12-08-2004, 11:57 AM BD- B4 I made adjustments on the fuel map I felt it pulled stronger from low RPM's with the valve connected. Now with the map I'm running combined with the TRE and the stacks I have a very linear pull from closed throttle to WOT no matter if I slam it open or roll on. Around town performance is smooth w/o any noticable dips or surges in pwr.
Big Daddy 12-08-2004, 01:30 PM Tanks you fugger.........er, i mean booBOY :badteeth:
BD
Catfish_ 12-08-2004, 03:50 PM i have no issues. It does feel abit leaner in the 3-4k region, but i dont go by my ass dyno. i go by racing the same person over again. much better real world assesment.
my ass dyno is always off .,, hehe
i do tune my bike myself on roads, no dyno can be compared with street riding and feeling. I use a wide band commander to get the air fuel ratio, and then i correct it on my pc3 usb, my map is done at 80%. I'm glad of my map. the bike is running stronger as far i'm tunning it.

my ass dyno is always off .,, hehei agree with you, the best dyno is road racing. However 3-5k region is too rich on my bike, i need to lean it on the pc. 3-4k is quite good but the between 4-5k
my air fuel ratio was about 11.5 after correction i get it at 12.5
Catfish_ 12-08-2004, 10:19 PM Yes, mine too was rich, even after the slip on and exhaust valve mod. after the bmc race it helped alot. now its only lean when its warming up but once its warm it fuels flawless
