Can anyone tell me how the power builds up thru the RPM range? I have only been to 5000 and it seems that it starts to pull hard from 5500/6000.

Very linear - hold on after 10k though.

Well, I am just getting through the break in myself, so on the way to work this morning, I decided to just do a simple roll on at 70. WHOOOOAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap, (this was the first time BTW) that thing started to eat up the real estate like no body's business!! It felt so freaking awesome. I was reading like 127 or something like that. Then I shut the throttle and right back to 70, I love it!!! I can't wait to get past 7-8K!!

kwakman, I know what you mean. I did the same thing on mine today. It goes from 75 to 90 in about 1.5 seconds. I used to have to drop a gear on my 6R to get that kind of performance.

Know what you mean, opened mine up coming from a 30limit and the speedo couldn't keep up, just jumped straight to 50 then onwards and upwards

still pulls to virtually flat out sat bolt upright. it's also very strange to be able to drop it into first gear at 70 mph and still have 30 mph to go. ran mine in on the 13th march but haven't ridden it since. getting withdrawal symptoms now.

It actually allows you to drop it into 1st at 70 mph? You people are starting to piss me off.

kwakman> Hey, I was on your side of the tunnel today, I stopped by Sunrise to get a pair of boots. It was funny, people come up to the bike and look at it, asking what is it. I took all the decals off when I got it. The rims turn out really nice and I think that throws them off too. We should hook up, we are riding out to Richmond tomorrow so I can get my deposit back from the shop I was going to buy from originally. Peace, JP

All I have to say is "ROLL ON!" Towards the end of a 60 mile ride yesterday I was lamenting the comfort of my '02 6R when I got stuck behind a line of 6 cars on a country road. We were all going about 60mph (I was in 6th gear) when I saw a break in the passing lane. Tucked in, nailed the throttle , and was at the front of the line in less than 3 seconds! Couldn't give a crap about comfort after that performance.

I've always been a waverer about clutchless upchanges, torn between the ease and simplicity of them, and a nagging doubt about how good it is for the box. However, they have become a neccesity as any changes further up the rev range see the bike jumping ahead and me struggling to hold on. Who needs bloody comfort?

kwakman> I took all the decals off when I got it. Peace, JP Did you use a heat gun to take the decals off easily? How was the finish afterwards? ________ Sc-replay (http://screplays.com)

It's easy to pull the decals off - just do it slooooowly. If there's anything adhesive left it comes off easy with some WD40.

I took mine off with a fingernail. The residual goo rubbed off with my thumb. (hmmm, goo and rubbed off in the same sentence.) The whole thing took about 2 minutes.

As long as you peel those decals off in the first year or so there won't be a problem-time spent in the sun bakes them into the paint. I had to remove parts of some rashed decals a few weeks ago from my 3 year old bike, and was able to use it to cover a blemish on the other side.
