hi dudez thinking off doing the final bits to my bike ,but not sure if to give to shop to do or can it be done at home so far ive got on the bike(06) cat converter(ebay job) gi-pro A and R baffel kits kn airfilter. # I'm thinking off getting the shop to fit the pc3, but know there rip me off, can you use your home pc or laptop to map it or isit goto be done stealership reason i suddenley want the pc3 , i went for a ride this weekend with friends and when i pinned the bike the speedo would not go over 189mph, but had more power left..not alot but i was'nt at full twist off the trottle grip. where im sure ive seen 192mph on the speedo, before i put the GI-PRO onto the bike.easter weekend which im not 100% convinced is working 100%. i can feel the diffearance between mode 1 and 2.. so something working fine ,but i have no light on the gear display saying the tre is working, i take it there surspouse tobe a red little light on the bottom right off gear display that tells you the TRE is working..its NOT THERE...+ The rev liminter on the dash come on at 10rpm now ??? whats that about??? IM THINKING THAT IF I GET THE PC3, i can pull that extra 11mph out the 10r or 8mph i just want to see the 200mph mark...if poss question 2 for zx10r 06 only if the 10r 06 has a magnet in the back wheel and one on the swing arm for the speedo... frecked me out seeing the speedo go up ,when i had the back wheel off the ground 1st time ..lmao why are the speedo off by 10%.. im thinking that if its done by the back wheel it don't matter what you do.. the speedo will alwaise be right.. but only on the black 10r 06 ..!!! this is what a friend said..i did look in the download manual but could'nt find anything.

First off. There is no light on the GIPro to tell you that it's working. You just set it to 1, 2, or off. That's it. If you can feel it working, then it is. Second, the speedo pickup is off the transmission, not the rear wheel. The transmission doesn't care about sprockets/tires/etc., just the speed of the transmission So if you re-gear your bike, the speedo is out of calibration and will read incorrectly. PS - That light that comes on at 10k, is that the rev limiter or the shift light? Shift light can be set manually anywhere from 9500 to 13000rpm. Check to be sure you're looking at the right thing.

thx dude, for the answers \,,/ but there is a light on the gi-pro.. and ive been hunting for a answer to why the bike want let me go aover 189mph its the kn air filter, the bike not been mapped. so by that . yea ive goto buy a pc3 after all..

I agree with everything you said except the tranny speed sensor, it is affected by tire wear and gearing changes as that is why they show up on the cluster when they are made.

but there is a light on the gi-pro.. Nope, there is no separate light on it. You may be looking at the dimming sensor for the "auto-dimming" feature.

I think we are talking about the same thing. Because the sensor pickup comes out of the transmission, that's the whole reason that the speedo is affected by gear changes and tire sizing. The sensor itself doesn't care what sprockets or tires are on their, but it's calibrated from the factory to read with the stock setup. Change any of those areas and the bike will go faster or slower while reading the same speed for a given rpm. If the sensor was off the front wheel like on older bikes, then speed would read correctly regardless of any changes to the drive components.

Monkey, unfortunately that's not my dash. Got that pic off the GIPro website. The area you're refering to is not a light. Its that sensor to dim the display that I was talking about. The flash from the camera has penetrated the color film and reflected off the sensor, just like you can see the other segments of the number that are not lit up. Sorry, but it's not a light and I'd rather see you ride the bike than trying to figure out why it isn't working.

First of all the top speed at least for first generation 10s(I believe it's the same for the 06/07s as well) is limited by the Instrument Cluster to 189mph....I don't care if your doing 200mph it seems the electronics in the Cluster is limited not to show above that limit period. Secondly, with the Mods you have I doubt you can hit over 189MPH TRUE speed anyway so you should be concentrating on getting the speedohealer as accurate as you can. A GPS will help with that and is not limited to 189MPH and will show you that you can't with those mods as well.:wink:

:+1: The speedo on your zx10r will not read above 189mph. secondly if you fit a pc3 you will need to fit 2 oxygen senser eliminators as well. they are about £17 each. i have -1 front sprocet +1 rear on 06 zx10r and speedo healer it is set at -13.9% and verified by gps this is spot on.

what should i do, i just got off the phone 2 the local shop. they want £440 to fit pc3 and map it.. my bike booked in for its 12000 miles service also, which im getting braded hoses fitted..so ive phone the shop and a service/brk lines is £300 ish.. missis is going kill me if i do job lot.. question now is .if the bike is not going to go as fast as i want it to , whats the point !!!! £440 is alot off money.. options: leave the bike as is ??? get pc3 fitted and no sex for a mounth ??? spend money on exhuasts ??? not spend any money apart from 12000 service bill ??? traid bike in ... convince me dudes ???

um its up 2 you. roads are soo shit here i would'nt want my bike to do 200 mph. if you get caught at that speed on a UK road your looing at automatic jail time. my bike is set up for the twisty stuff. -1 front +1 rear. decat pipe pc3 Co2 eliminators GuPro. BMc filter etc. my mates 10 is set up for top speed but he needs a hell of a strate or dual carriageway to use is top end. at the end of the day the choice is yours u either buy the stuff or you dont if you trade bike in you will only end up ,buying trick bits for it and yet again u will only ever see 189mph on speedo.

how often do you think your really going to go 189 mph on highway roads? and how long do you think you'll be riding at 189 mph, 20 sec - 5 min? i live in arizona and we have a lot of long flat ass roads. but i don't know any road that i would trust going 189 mph on longer than a few seconds. sooner or later a curve or cager or cop will appear or get in the way. hell, your probably be better off installing a turbo or nos kit to get to the speed your looking for. just my 2 cents. let us know how things turn out.
